Pours a cloudy gold color with a long-lasting white head. Not much lacing. Very subtle aroma at first, but the taste was surprisingly complex. Citrus and spice with a sourness to it from the yeast. High carbonation gives it a bit of a fizzy mouthfeel. Letting the beer warm a bit improved the flavor profile dramatically. It was definitely too cold when I began drinking but its qualities really came out as it warmed up. Paired extremely well with salmon sushi.

This is the first beer from The Bruery and it was fantastic. A great beer to pair with lighter foods for sure. I like a lot of things about this brewery from their philosophy ("we won't brew an IPA") to their label art. Looking forward to trying many more from them.

Poured from a 750 into a tulip.

Pours a cloudy golden orange. The creamy (in color and appearance) 1-2 finger head was persistent. It was whipped cream-like on the top with slightly coarser bubbles underneath.

The aroma was a crisp Belgian funk with some leather.

The taste followed the aroma but with slightly less funk and with the addition of sweet malt and sweet fruit. The sweetness was balanced by a slight hoppy astringency.

The body and carbonation were nearly perfect.

This will be a new favorite of mine for this style. It has everything I like: funk and sweetness balanced by hops and crispness.

served in a flight, had the 12, and 13 on tap at the bruery,

a - this is the only downside of this beer in my opinion, it did not stand out among the others in the flight we had, however this is where the similarities end, its looks are deceiving that is for sure

s - oh wow, great nose, pungent off the bat, interesting to notice the appearance between the 12 and 13 is very minimal, however the nose of the 13 stands out much more pungent and slightly stronger smell than the 12; with this in mind they both smell fantastic, maybe the 13 slightly better than the 12

t - this may be one of my favorite tasting sours i have had to date. as noted in my other reviews, i am fairly new to sours, however, this is the best sour I have had the privileged to taste. There is so much going on in there it is just an awesome experience to try to pick apart the fruits from the yeast from the different funks going on. Starts off very sour, smooths out as the initial funk dies down, then his you with a great, refreshing, after taste. truely a great tasting beer. The 13 is very similar but slighly more aggressive in the sour notes, a little more "twang" as my friends would say.

m - no complaints here, perhaps a little too much foam that does not stand up to the carbonation in the beer,

o - my favorite sour that doest start with cantillon
