Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a Duvel tulip. Moderate hand. No date? Bought approx 3-6 months ago.
A: Hazy to cloudy, golden honey-colored body. 2 fingers of off-white head with good retention. Light lacing.
S: Belgian yeast with a brett-fueled musty/earthy quality mixed in. Spiced fruit. Pear, apple, orange. Bread. Hay. Light citric/lactic acid tartness.
T: Spicy and moderately sweet up front with earthy fruit notes. Light hop bitterness develops for a fairly dry finish. Linger rye spice in the aftertaste. Light alcohol presence.
M: Moderate carbonation with a moderate body. Somewhat less effervescent than your average (Belgian) saison, but this drinks a bit darker than usual. So it's all good.
O: Interesting cohesive whole. The brett, Belgian yeast and rye play very nicely with each other. Arguably my favorite Bruery offering.
