Availability: Summer

Notes/Commercial Description:
Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening.

Appearance: Opaque golden straw, with good retention and nice lacing.

Nose: Green grapes, green apples, grass, banana and tropical smoothie with peaches.

Taste: Apricots, bananas, lemon, mango, and lots of peach. Very nicely balanced.

Notes: Very interesting! This is an excellent departure from your normal Belgian.

Look: Clear burnt gold with and aggressive white head. One Very active beer with tons of legs!

Smell: lots of Belgian sugar and yeast funk on the nose. Getting Belgian sugar, bananas, white peppercorn, big yeast funk, green apple, some straw, oranges, tangerines, and something earthy throughout maybe the basil but smells more like fresh grape leaves and lemon grass. Smells tasty and fresh.

Taste: Woah! This is one tasty brew. Definitely a trippel base but quickly jumps to fresh apricots, banana, lemongrass, maybe a bit of mango, pineapple, then back to the trippel with slight peppercorn, Belgian sugar, and yeast funk. One very funky and tasty brew.

Mouthfeel: This beer is light and peppery at first but that makes way for a more medium thirst quenching body. It is still surprisingly light on its feet given the ABV and packs a big taste punch! The alcohol is slightly detected in a hint of warmth.

Overall: I took a chance with this brew considering the ingredients but boy I'm glad I did. This beer is easy drinking with a big flavor punch that is both refreshing and fruity but still has a very tasty Belgian core
