Pours a deep amber with deep reddish highlights and a beige one finger head. Lots of carbonation lines the edge of the glass leaving a very fine ring. Looks super appetizing. Aroma is predominately sugar and spice and everything nice. Reminds me of pecan pie for some reason. Smells a bit "hot." I can tell there's a good amount of ABV lurking inside. Taste is fig, raisins, molasses and spices. I'm reading the label right now and it's spot on.. "..brewed with yams, molasses, maple syrup and spices." If that's not an accurate description I don't know what is. Mouthfeel is on par with other top belgian strong dark ales. I wouldn't say this is a super drinkable beer. I'm through one glass and I'm feeling a lil cloudy-headed already.
Overall, a pretty good brew and perfect for the fall months!
