Pours a dark orange-brown and hazy beer. The big off-white head has a fair level of retention, with little lace to show. Aromas are very spicy and highlight cinnamon and clove. Other smells are of pumpkin and yam fruit/vegetables.
Taste is rich and malty sweet, plus lots of spice notes as in nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon. Other flavors include vanilla and woody notes, plus a smooth alcohol warmth. Bitterness is low.
Thick mouthfeel, with medium to high carbonation. Finish is of spices and is sweet, malty and fruity. Overall this is an excellent dessert beer -- very rich, sweet and spicy. Recommended

For some reason, I let this one sit for a few years. Still tasted pretty good though. Pours a medium brown color with orange highlights throughout. Head is small, even with a hard pour. Head retention and lacing are minimal. This beer could have used a little more carbonation.
Aroma includes maltiness, an aroma reminiscent of pumpkin (the yams), the usual pumpkin beer spices and some molasses and brown sugar. Very nice.
Flavor is rich, as rich as some of the better pumpkin ales. The sweetness is balanced by the spices and the fairly neutral tasting yam flavor. All the flavors are pronounced and pleasant.
Mouthfeel is rich but lacking in carbonation. I thought I might have stored this beer too long, but I read other reviews complaining about carbonation issues. Still pleasant. no hint of alcohol except for a welcoming warming effect.
I'm not a huge fan of fruit and vegetable beers but his one is pretty good.
