750 mL bottle at refrigerator temperature poured into a snifter.
A - Pours a bright golden yellow body with a pillowy, three finger head that takes its time in backing down.
S - The nose is an intricate combination of floral hops and wild yeast basement funk. There are citrus (orange and lemon), stone fruit (apricot, white nectarine), and the slightest touch of tropical fruit (papaya and mango) notes. The funk is very well-integrated with the fruit and floral notes.
T - The hops come forward here, and the pleasant bitterness overpower some of the sweeter subtleties that were present on the nose. I'm not able to pick up the soft floral notes, but instead the orange and lemon hop flavors stand out. The funk remains pretty quiet, but I am able to catch it on the finish.
M - The hops come forward here and give the brew a crisp, clean mouthfeel. Very light, bright, and refreshing.
D - An outstanding hop-forward saison, perfect for warm weather. The best thing about this brew is the nose - complex and mysterious but still inviting and exciting. As the label notes, this brew would take very well to being aged for a year or two (or more!). I'd pair this brew with a fresh goat's milk cheese, for sure. If you're a fan of saisons, get your hands on this brew. Another winner from The Bruery!

Not sure the regular price of this beer but I got it on discount from 15.95 for just 9 bucks. Must be old at least a few months to possibly a year from last spring you never know with beers from this place.
A - Very carbonated I got well over two inches that fades rather slowly. Probably to a good lace ring... yep! Color is a hazy opaque yellow color with no chunks so thankfully it's not TOO old or stored wrong.
S - Fresh and full of Brett that tickles the nostrils like a fresh squeezed lemon. Beneath this I do get some dry funky yeast and maybe some peppery spice but it's mostly sour.
T - Not sure how but I get no sour flavors in the taste is just comes off dry with some bready yeast and very little if any pepper corn or funk. Kind of plain really for such an expensive drink.
M - Bubbly and light Its not too dry and goes down smooth.
Overall I really like the idea of a sour Saison it covered up most of the drying qualities I hate in the style but it really didn't taste very Brett like. In fact it seems like it killed the base a bit since I don't taste many bready malts or pepper corns or anything. Interesting idea but an overpriced flop if you asked me.
