Draft at Duckworths Ballantyne. Pretty clear gold pour, thin white layer. Sticks to the glass a bit.

Aroma, some pine and citrus zest. A little bready pilsener like malt.

Taste, light biscuit, heavier pine and citrus zest again. Bitters linger quite a while. A little more caramel and grain comes though as it warms, but very little.

On the light side body wise, nice smooth carbonation. Drinks very easily.

More of an ipa than a pilsener, probably why it is rated so high. Needs more malt and grain balance. Very straight forward.

On tap at the bruery
Was not impressed and my notes reflected that until I got back and read the description... I am reviewing this with the consideration that it is more an IPL than an imperial pilsner

Pours a pale hazy yellow golden colour. A nice foamy white head. Looks pretty solid.

Smells hoppy and earthy. Some nice light grassiness on the nose. There is a wheaty yeastiness on the nose that I am not a fan of.

Tastes light and hopy. The earthy, grassy undertones are nice but the hops don't meld well with the beer. There is an awkwardness to this beer that I'm not pleased with. Lagery yeast flavours. Orange, lemon, maybe some other citrus on the tongue. The flavour profile is interesting but unbalanced

Solid mouthfeel. Well carbonated.
Overall the beer has a lot of potential it just feels really rough around the edges to me

Draught at the Bistro IPA fest. Hazy blond with a lasting head. Resinous grapefruit peel aroma with some sweetness and flowers. Clean and dry with a bitter finish and low fruitiness. Medium bodied and smooth. Good stuff, but not a standout. The lager yeast is nice because it lets the hops come through very cleanly, though I think they could have finessed the bitterness a little more and given the aroma a little push.

On tap at Local Habit. Handsome golden amber with a long-lasting head in the tulip. Plenty of carbonation and a tangy mouthfeel. The great thing about this beer is the fulsome aromatic hoppiness. Bitterness is restrained, but adds a nice note to the malty base.

Rather sharp after some sipping. Really spicy hop flavors linger invitingly, wafted up by the hottish alcohol. Some deep fruity flavors that remind me of mango and apricots. A tasty brew that seems stronger than it really is. And a good example of another homegrown style that seems to have a reason to exist. My favorite Bruery product so far.
