A - Holy head... even the most gentle pour yields a mountain of beige, pillowy foam. It doesn't go away, nor does the lacing. Body is maroon with hints of ruby. Difficult to see through at all, but I can tell it is fairly cloudy. The body could look like a miller lite and i would have to give it at least a 4 on the head alone.
S - Smells a tad funky, spicy, and I can almost smell raw rye. Some sort of sour note that is tough to pin down. Vanilla and dark fruit are in there somewhere.
T - Ahh.... this is delicious. toasted bread and rich dark fruits are most notable. Reminds me a lot of date paste in it's flavor. the charred flavors really linger on the back of the tongue on the finish.
M - Surprisingly not as viscous as I was expecting from a rye beer, but thick and creamy nonetheless. Carbonation is a bit higher than expected as well
O - Great beer that I would drink again. and again.... and again...
