The Bruery's Rugbrød, JuleBryg-Style Dark Rye Ale. 8% ABV.
A: Two fingers of pancake batter-colored head. Pink in the fluted bottom, with thin line of yellow in the very bottom. Tiny grey flecks, which appear to be clinging to the inside of the glass. Deep red. Out of the light, it looks nearly black, moving toward purple and fuchsia. Practically no lacing, with just the slightest sheeting.
S: Rye sandwich bread. Slight citrus. Slight toast. Very slight sour funk and yogurtiness. Not much to the nose, really.
T/MF: Fairly creamy texture. Slight citrus. Lightly toasted rye bread. Charred toffee sweetness in the back. A slight sourness, somewhere near lemon or soured yogurt. Slight spiciness.
Pretty good. Not up there with the Wookie Jack or w00tstout, but better than the Ruthless Rye. And, miles better than the Rye'd Piper!
Poured from a 750mL bottle, into a Petrus chalice.
