Oude Tart | on-tap | 2010
Glass: Bruery Tulip
Served: June 4, 2010 on-tap at The Bruery
A - Pours a dark brown-red with a moderate beige head that lingers for a good while. This beer has good lacing that slowly slides down as the beer sits.
S - Smell is very enticing with notes of cherry, oak, red-wine, vinegar, and a nice tartness. There is also some sweetness to the flavor that can sometimes be eclipsed by the tart and funkiness of this beer.
T - Taste is close to the smell. This beer hit me with a nice cherry/sweet fruit tartness upfront. Along with some vinegar and red-wine flavors. It also has some nice hints of oak. Very tasty. This was my second time having the beer and although the tartness didn't seem to be as strong this time it was still very good.
M - Nice sized body to this beer for the ABV. It as just the right amount of carbonation. Starts out smooth and somewhat sticky in the mouth but ends dry and tart.
D - This is a extremely drinkable beer. Even though it doesn't have the highest ABV it still hit me pretty good because of how drinkable it was. I think The Bruery did a great job with this style and I wish I could have got some bottles of this. I'm very impressed with this beer and want more of it.
