Bottle at Publican. I was fairly shocked to see this listed on the menu, and Alex and I thought it a misprint until we saw the bottle, which we immediately bought.
A - Opaque black-brown pour, with an evident richness, and small encircling wisps of froth; where most beer would deposit lace, Coton shows legs.
S - Jeez. The nose is filthy rich. Wood, insanely good Bourbon, vanilla, a hint of cherry, sweet honey, toffee, and caramel notes leap out of the glass, and are as delectable as the finest creme brulee.
T - The brew tastes every bit as good as the nose suggested it could. It actually tastes better. There is a richness and intensity of flavor in this beer that is just so enticing; I found Black Tuesday to possess a similar quality. To say that it exhibits complex and delicious notes of vanilla, Bourbon, buttery oak, milk chocolate, hazelnut, toffee, dulce de leche, dark fruit and cherries doesn't really even do this brew justice; it is a leviathan. And of course it tastes boozy! It is 17% and aged in Bourbon, what'd you expect, Jupiler?
M - Silky and luscious.
O - It is one of the best -bals I've had, straight-up, as well as among the best brews of this high of an ABV that I've had, too.
