Had this on cask after one of the Bruery's reserve society meetings.

This cask was extremely hot, which brought down a few notches, but the cherries and cocoa nibs added so much to the Black Tuesday.

Still an awesome beer.

Alcohol, sour from the cherries, chocolate, and coffee on the nose.

Joined the reserve society - can't wait to have more of this next year!

Had this on tap while at The Bruery last Saturday. And it was the SOUR Cherry Chocolate Rain, which I hope is close enough.

Pours a dark, prune-juice like consistency with no head or lacing. Looks like a port. Another f'ing beer that looks like a port.

Well there's definitely strong aromas of sour cherries emanating from this one. Strong hints of chocolate, molasses, and prunes. God, why the f' do so many stouts of this strength have the smell of prunes in the bouquet? Is it me? Must I get my nose fixed?

Tastes of sour cherries, oak, with nary a hint of chocolate. Also a little rye and either port or Shiraz near the finish. Aaaand some booze. Actually a lot more booze than I would like. It's actually burning my throat, and I'm quite annoyed. In addition, a slight taste of chocolate near the finish as I inhale.

Mouthfeel is slightly chewy, medium-bodied.

Overall, not a fan. The aromas are the best this beer seems to offer, and even with that there isn't a whole lot to distinguish it. It's a big monster of a port...I mean beer, and I shan't return its way again (and don't tell me the heat is from the 19.5%; Black Tuesday is about equivalent and that drinks smooth and booze-free).

Pouring a very dark brown, there's no real head here, but what did you expect from a cask pour of a mega imperial stout. A touch darker than Chocolate Rain. Reddish brown highlights are present. Nice legs.

I was told that this version of CCR (from the Barrel Tasting) spent less time on cherries than the one available at the BT release, and it shows. While very similar to Chocolate Rain, there's a mild cherry character. A little more oxidized than CR, there's a mild port like character that's further amplified by the mild cherry note. Again, there's chocolate syrup, bourbon and a little less booze than CR.

The palate is sweeter than CR, a definite fruity, cherry sweetness to go with the mildly syrupy chocolate. Coupled with the big bourbon character which is more heat and less bourbon and vanilla (unlike BT or CR). Sweet on the finish with a boozy heat, this is rather spectacular. Just a little sweeter than I'd like, this aspect hurts the mouthfeel and drinkability just a hair. Full in body, low in carbonation, and boozy on the finish with chocolate, this is great stuff. I'd drink it again and often if I could

Poured a very dark brown almost black with maroon highlights that had no head and left no lacing sticking to the glass. The aroma was really boozy was able to detect vanilla, chocolate, cocoa character, slight coffee, toffee, and faint cherry notes. It also had a little oak as well. The taste was also filled with chocolate which dominated the work on the palate alongside, toffee, cocoa nib, and cherry accents but had some underlying vanilla. It had a very complex flavor and was a very good black Tuesday hybrid. The brew was full in body with a very low amount of carbonation which had a sweet, very slight fruity, roasty, boozy, and silky finish. It drank decent considering the ABV on this booze bomb but was really tasty. I was glad to have had a taste from the left over reserve society party.
