Pours a clear amber with a generous off white head and lots of lacing.
Smells of grapefruit hops along with some good caramel notes.
Starts off with some citrusy hoppiness and rounds into a sweet caramel flavor with notes of some oak. 25% in oak was a good idea as the oak flavor is present, but not overpowering.
Mouthfeel is good and creamy with a little bit lower carbonation level than normal.
Hoppy reds are right up my alley and this one is no different. I could use just a touch more hoppiness, but overall a great beer. Wish they'd distribute it nationally.
