Light auburn and brown pour, tiny fizzle of a head. Enjoyed the aroma, whatever lingo/lingenberries are, they seem to contribute to this dry, tart, brett and fruitish aroma.

Taste was both bitter and sour, nice. Rather astringent even, seems to dehydrate your throat. A rye like spiciness from it. Bruery frequently makes some unique brews, and this one is pushing the limits even for them, haven't had anything like it before. Its like a rugbrod variation that is even better. Bits of wood flavor to it noticeable later on.

Don't know what gave it the darker color, possibly caramel malt. Complex. Would drink again. Tasted at the initiation party.

Comes out lighter than Rug(ged)Brod, the base beer for this (perhaps unintentionally soured). Light brown, small head. Aroma was enjoyable, had a mix of brett, dry and tart.

Taste hit the bitter rye notes and the sour ones. Really dry stuff. Plenty of rye and woodiness. Overall, pretty enjoyable.

Served on tap as part of the Bruery's rare beer night.

A - Dark brown, ruby highlights, with a big tan head that dissipated quickly.

S - Barnyard funk, malt, more funk. Some esters.

T - Brett bomb! Leather, sweat, bandaid finish. Very, very dry. Some spiciness from the rye is present, especially at the finish.

M - Medium bodied, maybe medium-full.

O - I really enjoyed this Wild Ale and would gladly have another pour.

Brown in color with a pretty big light khaki head.

Nose is an assertive acidic, wine/balsamic vinegar character but the rye clearly comes through in all respects, nose and mouth.

Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and a nice medium to medium big acid character. Nice balance and all in all you want more.

Flavor is a big malty rye but there can be no doubt that lingonberries (sp?) are present.

Finish is a nice rye acidic character with a nice bitter acidic finish. Rugbrod is a well made and good Bruery beer but it is my least favorite. This one I welcome and want to drink again.

On-tap at the Provisions Store,

A: Pours brown with a big puffy off-white head, solid lace.

S: Dark rye bread (Rugbrod of course), acetic type acid, balsamic vinegar.

T: The dark malt base is quite flavourful and mixes well with the red fruit flavours of the lignonberries. The acidity is Flanders style and works with the acidity of the berries to make a tasty drink.

M: Medium-bodied, medium appealing acidity, frothy, carbonation can be a tad high.

D: Don't know if this is just a more aged version of Sour Rugbrod or an entirely different beer, but it's a step up from that beer that I had in 2010. Very solid effort.

Pours a light layer of off white head. Color is a murky chocolate dark brown.

Aroma: Cherries, berries, lingonberries. Kind of funky. Dry with chocolate and caramel. Malty. It is sour and kind of tart. Weird.

Taste: Floral and herbal. Lingonberries. Sour, rye, malty, caramel. chocolate awfulness. I have no idea what this beer is supposed to be. Oak and vanilla. Medicinal and plasticy.

Mouthfeel: Fizzy, dry, tart, and sour. Lighter bodied with a higher amount of carbonation. Ends dry.

Overall, not a good beer at all. I don't want to drink about. It is a too much and nothing works well together. No thank you.

Poured a chocolate brown in color with light brown highlights when held up to the sun that had a thin tight white head and left a little lacing sticking to the glass. Don't really know how lingonberries smell like but it had fruity character so I'm guessing that's what it was but also noticed oaky, citrus, vinous, and mild acidic notes. The taste had a nice tart bite upfront followed by the fruit qualities which consisted of the ligonberries and grapes but had oaky citrusy accents and a touch of acidity on the end. The brew was medium in body with a fair amount of carbonation which had a fruity, citrusy, oaky, vinous, and tart finish. Definitely a really intresting offering from the bruery that drank quite well and wasn't over acidic; pretty decent.

Had at the Bruery Reserve Society Party. Served from tap into a Bruery sampler imperial pint. Poured a murky deep brown with a minimal off-white head. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, sour, tart, and big funk. The flavor was of sweet malt, sour, tart, and funk. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was an excellent brew. It had both a nice flavor and aroma going on. This one is a definite must try if they do it again.

on tap at RS party

App- A lightish reddish brown color with a pretty decent head for the taster pour

Smell- Big smells of fruit on this one. You get the minor oaky sour notes that come after the linconberries.

Taste-I liked it, it has a refreshing kind of sour, sweet, dry taste that was very new to me.

Mouth- A light body with a medium carbonation. Pretty dry finish

Dry-As I said the RS party introduced me to some new sours and I really liked them all.

On tap at the Bruery Reserve Initiation party 2011. Pours a very foamy 2 finger head with a murky reddish brown mahagony color. The aroma has nice notes of both oak and fruit. I haven't had Lingonberries before on their own but it must have a fairly strong aroma to overpower the rye in this. More funky than I thought it would be, this starts off with a semi sweet flavor followed by some sourness and then the aformentioned funk. Ends pretty dry. Different but pretty tasty. Light mouthfeel.

On tap at The Bruery tasting room.

Pours a darker brown color, but nowhere near black, with a one-finger tan head that has good retention.

The aroma is very bretty with dark fruit notes, rye, spices, and nuts. Decent.

The flavor is like a brown ale with brett. It's fine, but I'm not so sure this is a great combination. Rye, spiciness, nuts, and berries, with a little cattiness to it, of which I'm not the biggest fan.

Medium-full bodied with rather high carbonation and not much acidity really.

A decent beer, but for the style I expect a bit more interesting flavor.
