Poured into my Bruery tulip/snifter glass with just a faint bit of head mixed with some sudsy bubbles. Settles down to a mostly still, dark rusty red colored beer. Fairly cloudy with some yeast residue at the edges. The bottle was not sitting still long before pouring.
Aroma of a sour cherry, vinegar, woody barrel medley. Red wine and barrel are also present with lemon undertones.
Taste is more sour cherries, balsamic vinegar, lemon acidic bite, leather and faint brown sugar and ends on a sour, almost grapefruit-like, slightly bitter end. The sour taste lingers.
There's little to no carbonation and the body is very wine-like. A bit more carbonation would help the aroma pop a little more, but overall its in line with the style.
This is a very good beer and am glad that I was able to track down some bottles. Great idea for the Bruery and
Cigar City to get together.
