Had a sip of this brew on-tap at Toronado, and was blown away by it. This is the review from the bottle I had a few days later.
Poured from 750ml bottle to wine glass.
A - reddish brown with one finger reddish white head. Lots of little chunks in the glass and on the lacing, which is good. Head retention is OK, not great.
S - Oak, chocolate, raisins, smoke. No hops to be found. The chocolate is a bit muted until the beer opens up, then it's all you can smell.
T - Doesn't exactly follow the nose. Almost some cherry flavor with a bit of vinegar and raisin. Very interesting and complex. Finishes with oak and tart astringency. Very nicely crafted.
M - At times velvety, but for the most part a bit flat on the carbonation. The finish lingers on your breath for a few minutes. Alcohol is well masked.
O - A great, complex beverage that I keep finding new notes and flavors with every sip. This is my first beer from the Bruery, and after this I'll be coming back.
