Shop near me decided to release some stuff it was originally going to use for a sampling, so good timing was mine that day. Poured it with some Sunday brunch with the wife, and wasn't sure what to expect from my first "sour stout." It came out dark, but not black hole dark, more like used motor oil through the light. The light fizz went away very quickly. I didn't notice anything having to do with it being a stout with either smell or taste until it was about an hour in the glass, when some room temp warmth finally brought out the faint smell of a stout. Otherwise, it was all sour cherries, with a start of tart, with tart in the middle, and then a strong finish of tartness. It's wicked sour, but it cleans up nicely and doesn't leave any sort of lingering aftertaste. Overall, it's damn good, but at a pretty pricey purchase level.
