Pours a brown color, good 1/2" lighter brown head. Aroma of roast and is it pumpkins and yams along with some cedar. That might be the best thing about this beer.
Surprised at the bitterness, I guess it is roast derived. Still some cedar (I like), cinnamon, nutmeg and other Thanksgiving feels to it. Thought it might need more lactose to smooth and balance it out.
A lot of stouts that the Bruery makes that I am more into. I think this one could be salvaged in a bourbon barrel though.

2011 vintage
L - Pours as I'd expect and looks just like a legit milk stout. The head was very billowing, 3 fingers of dark tan at most.
S - Lots of pumpkin, spices and cedar. There's a tartness or acidity I can't pinpoint.
T - The taste does not mirror the nose. Pumpkin flesh, nutmeg and cinnamon. The cedar is in the background. Good roasted malt character as well.
F - Medium bodied and medium carbonation. A very smooth and velvety mouthfeel.
O - The label said it could age for a year and I think it's mistaken. For a 6.66% abv beer, it was very full of flavor and didn't seem to be going downhill. I'm not a huge pumpkin beer guy, but I dig this one.
