750ml bottle into tulip. Bottled 4/25/13.
A: Body pours a deep iced-tea but with a little more mahogany to it. Head this large, frothy, thick and off-white in color. The head slowly collapsed into a greasy bubbly film leaving a network of heavy lacing down the glass.
S: Perfumey and bright nose definitely has dominate notes of kumquats and tart citrus pith. I get a touch of spicy rye and maybe a hint of drying oak barrel.
T: Follows the nose with huge, juicy kumquat notes which lend flavors of tropical fruits, oranges, lemon zest, tangerine juice and juicy fruit gum. Rye, oak barrel, gritty oak tannins and slight vanilla come through in the finish, and the aftertaste is musty, earthy and tart. I get a leafy sort of minty bubble gum taste in there as well. The after-aftertaste is buttery from the oak. Hints of leafy tobacco emerge as it warms.
M: Greasy, oily, slick body but luckily the drying oak finish comes through as I swallow. Modest and even carbonation makes this beer go down smooth. Medium-full body.
O: Drinks very well. Great unique flavors is more than just a citrus sour. Well integrated and smooth. Oak works nicely with the ‘quats. One of the best Bruery sours I’ve had.

Clear dark golden.... nice white head... good lacing and retention.
Nose is pretty damn citrus sour.... kumquats are loud and proud.
Flavor has the same big kumquat presence... citric and pithy... lactic and unapologetic.. liquid sweet tarts... juicy citrus .... for my humble palate, the sour notes destroy any rye perceptions that I might have.
Light/medium body... good carbonation.... very puckery and sour, still pretty refreshing though a 750 is plenty between 5 dudes.
