At the time of this review, this is #1 on the "Top Beers - Wheatwine" list on beeradvocate.com....fun. Served in a Bruery tulip. Beer is amber and hazy with a wispy white head of small bubbles, no lacing, low carbonation.
Aroma is sweet...smells like white chocloate.
I wonder about beers like this...did the Bruery make this beer and then name it or set out to make a beer that tastes like white chocolate. Nailed it. The beer is really sweet, pushing it but not over the edge, and has a nice vanilla flavor to it, creamy smooth, no alcohol sneaking through...thick bodied. It is a good beer but it is a committment to drink it. I won't turn it down in the future but it is a big task to drink this alone...one of the only wheatwines I think tastes good.

Somewhat murky dark cream and light amber in color with a very small off-white head. There's not a lot of visible carbonation, but some. This leaves the glass oily and spotted with stick. Not a particularly attractive beer, and surprisingly light in color.
The aroma is something quite special and unlike anything I've experienced before in a beer; it's like walking into a Coldstone Creamery. Big notes of sweet vanilla cream, waffle cones, white chocolate, cake batter ice cream, and mild grain combine for something quite extraordinary.
The flavor isn't quite as impactful, though lovely amounts of vanilla, bourbon, wood, white chocolate, and waffle cone combine quite nicely. Moderate bitterness, and the alcohol is hidden exceptionally well considering the beast this beer actually is. Impressive and flavorful, though not as complex as Black Tuesday, Melange 3, and Fruet, to name a few recent Bruery world-beaters.
Full in body with low-moderate carbonation.
Just awesome. I don't think anybody actually expected this to taste/resemble white chocolate, but...it does!

2012 edition. I tried an infected 2013 version and, while interesting, wasn't appropriate to review.
A: Ripe apricot. Hazy. Barely any lacing.
S: Big bourbon barrel character with caramel, vanilla, and butterscotch.
T: Very hot. Once the booze burn dissipates you get a wash of vanilla and caramel. The cacao nibs aren't particularly noticeable but that may be the light color affecting my experience of the flavor. There's an apple-esque tartness in the finish; not an infection tartness but perhaps some esters from the base wheatwine.
M: Not as thick as I had anticipated but very hot. The burn runs from the mouth all the way to the stomach.
O: It's a pleasure finally getting to try this. A beautiful scent, a good flavor. Was it worth the hunt? Perhaps, perhaps not. I am, however, looking forward to trying the next version.
