5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our ‘12 Days of Christmas’ winter seasonal ale series. The only golden ale in the bunch, we spiced up the natural pause in the classic song with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with the delicious sweet and tangy flavor of pineapple. The resulting ale is a true holiday treat that can be enjoyed fresh or cellared until 2019, when 12 Drummers Drumming will be released.

Our traditional Bruery Christmas beer on Christmas.

Bright orange with a thin, insta-skim head. Smells like pineapple juice and fuzzy Belgian yeast phenols. Tastes like it smells - fuzzy pineapple. Tangerine/nectarine (I don't know that I can tell the difference) in back.

Good but intensely juicy brew. Like a pineapple, tangerine cocktail. Had I known I would have brought fruit and mini-umbrellas.

750 ml bottle
Served in a tulip glass

A - It is peach in color with one inch of off-white head.

S - The aroma gives off scents of pear, pineapple, and cinnamon.

T - The taste is exactly like the smell. I get pear, pineapple, and cinnamon. i do also taste some Belgian yeast spiciness.

M - Moderate

O - It is a well done BSPA with added spices to give it a Christmas feel. i really enjoyed this beer. It is probably the best new to me Christmas beer of this season.

Poured into a Funky Buddha Brewery snifter. Cellared for one year.

A- Pours a hazy orangeish amber color with a 1/4 inch beige head that's short-lived and soon fades to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a sheer sheet of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a thick ring behind.

S- Moderate amount of yeasty barnyard funk plus some orange zest, candi sugar and booze.

T- Whoa, you can really taste the pineapple juice. It's actually like drinking a pineapple juice liquor cocktail but just a bit more complex with some yeast and a tad bit of malt at work. Some other flavors come out as a result like mango and orange but it's just full-on pineapple juice through most of the ride. Things become more enjoyable as it warms but I think it's just because I do like pineapple juice.

M- A bit sharp and acidic but not in a very good way since the booze also adds to the bite and creates a discordance. Medium-low carbonation with a lightish body.

O- About as one-dimensional as it gets. Drinkable, but easily the most disappointing in The Bruery's Christmas beer series.
