Shared with rudzud.

Pours a big 1 finger head, that fades semi slowly, very little lacing which disappears quickly too, dark murky cranberry chestnut solid like cartoony color.

Nose has lots of fresh coffee to start, nice great roasted espresso, not over roasted either, nice dark choc cocoa like, plenty of vanilla barrel, light bourbon and coconut, dark caramel, some dark fruits like fig raisin, more of the melange 3 coming through the more it warms and the more I nose, it starts to get a bit nutty, and boozy too,

Taste stats with big malts again, stats more with melange 3 again, big sweet syrupy malts, dark toffee, caramel, nutty, chewy, etc. Coffee comes through nicely, fresh roasted espresso beans freshly ground and brewed but not heavy either, with light bitterness. A bit if cocoa, dark dried fruits with fig and touch of bourbon soaked raisins, more barrel with bourbon and nice vanilla barrel flavours, hint if coconut too. Booze cuts in with warning slightly tingly but part for course in the melange, light alcohol taste even but clean booze. Nice fresh coffee lingering in the finish, quite a bit of tingly booze lingering, plenty of dark malts, little syrupy but not too sweet, bit if dark fruit and bourbon barrel still lingering.

Mouth is full bod, rich, semi syrupy and thick, decent carb, plenty of warming tingly booze.

Overall awesome! Def an ugly duckling, great flavors and aromas, plenty of Melange 3 in there with great espresso on top. It took a little time to warm up, but once it did it was awesome. Glad I have more of this, but not sure if I should age since the coffee will die off, or the booze to quite down a bit and all the flavors meld like Melange 3. Tough decision, great beer.

Poured from bottle into Hoppin Frog tulip. Date of review is 6/7/14.

Appearance- So I have officially never seen this color of brown. It is beautiful in it's own special way. It reminds me of a color only a mother could love, and I love it. Dark white head disappears almost right away.

Smell- Blueberry, coffee and chocolate in that order. It smells quite sweet. Just a hint of pear and bourbon in the background, but the sweet coffee steals the show.

Taste- Taste VERY good! It is sweet, but not puckeringly sweet. WAY more bourbon than in the nose. Bourbon, white peaches and caramel/toffee round out the flavors.

Mouthfeel- Maybe a bit too sweet, but again, not punch-you-in-the-mouth sweet. Thick and chewy, kinda like oatmeal. Very little, almost no, alcohol burn. For a 14.5% beer, that is impressive.

Overall- I have about zero experience with Bruery beers, but this one is great. I am glad I asked for this specific beer in a trade with my California buddy. Great offering from a world-class brewery.

Thanks to Todd for the share.

Poured a murky, dull, milk-and-coffee color, with a thin off-white head; minimal retention and lacing. Sugary aroma, toffee, coconut, coffee grounds, some herbal/floral/vegetal hops. In the taste, caramel and toffee, cold/old coffee, notes of vanilla and oak, coconut, raisin...kind of all over the place, with no balance or real "direction." Some booze and medicine in there as well. Medium body, messy mouthfeel. Just another Bruery beer.
