Poured aggressively to make a nice, large creme brulee - colored head that goes down quickly. The beer itself is a murky, reddish brown color. Very nice-looking old ale. Scent is unbelievably good. I don't know why it's unbelievable considering how good Fruet was. Sweet bourbon aromas with cherry and oak. A good amount of vanilla and toffee with some melted caramel aromas. Very rich and bold, with dark fruits and burnt sugar. The aroma is just so inviting! Taste is just as good as I remember Fruet being. Tingly, sweet bourbon up front with some booziness. Sweet vanilla and oak with cherry and plum flavors. This beer is ridiculously complex and you can just taste the depth of this beer with each and every sip. As the beer warms, the flavors really open up, and so does the booze. This one seems to be a little more harsh when fresh than Fruet was. Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit hot. Drinkability is high, as it is very tasty...just sip slowly. Overall, this beer is fantastic! I'm not sure if it's as good as Fruet was fresh, but this is delicious. Can't wait to taste the other variants!

Bottle into tulip.
Celebrating my last day at work after being laid off.
A- Super murky, dark brown almost black pour. Tight bubbled, two finger light tan head. Loads of alcohol on the glass and minimal lacing.
S- The wallop of bourbon on the nose from three feet away is remarkable. Bourbon, brown sugar, plums, figs, vanilla, some chocolate and coffee. Burnt toffee, some alcohol with a loads bourbony goodness.
T- Bourbon right up front, dark stone fruits, some chocolate, a huge punch of vanilla on the tongue with bourbon and alcohol in the finish.
M- Medium body, medium to low carbonation, warming alcohol in the finish.
