The nose holds tones of walnut, toffee, caramel, rye and a boozy whiskey.

The flavors are very strong and it gives off the same dessert tone of the original Bois. The toffee, caramel, and chocolate sweetness is tempered by the rye. It finishes a bit boozy but holds on for a more authentic whiskey flavor.

More spicy to counter the sweetness than the original.

Unfortunately does not feel like it carries the flavor of the Bois. Rye comes through rather nicely though

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a medium off-white head. Aroma of loads of caramelized malt with some brown sugar notes and some dry fruits with light liquor notes also noticeable. Taste is mix between some caramelized sugar notes with some brown sugar, vanilla and dry raisins notes. Whiskey and vanilla notes are also easily identifiable. Body is quite full with medium carbonation and light warming alcohol notes are noticeable. Big beer for sure with probably too much residual sugars but somehow I found it very enjoyable in small serving.

Shared at a 10K review beer tasting; drank from a Hill Farmstead stemmed snifter.
Thanks to pushkinwow for the bottle!

Pours deep brown, short off-white head with decent lacing. Damn, the nose really blows your hair back! Huge malt presence, toasted grains, caramel, molasses, dates; the barrel also has a distinct presence lending heavy vanilla, toffee, warm boozy alcohol, whiskey flavors. The taste is right there also; massively sweet, toasted grain, boozy whiskey, toffee, caramel, raisins and plums, vanilla. It has a heavy body with some carbonation to lighten the feel up, but this is heavy, silky. It is a very complex beer but very sweet. Be sure to share this bottle!
