Split again with rudzud.
Light fizzy head, decent lacing, murky dark purple like brown color.
Nose is just pure coffee, fresh roasted espresso beans, just earthy nutty coffee beans, nothing else. Fairly earthy too like soil. I wish the beer was a bit more present here. I do love my coffee, but I want to ahve the beer still exist, otherwise I'll just drink coffee.
Taste starts with fresh coffee grinds, espresso, nutty earthy coffee, at first that's the main attraction. Then gets into hops, earthy spicy hops, fairly bitter but not a ton, then sweet malts, caramel, toffee, candy, light toasty oak barrel, light vanilla and bourbon but not a ton, fairly nutty too. Some booze, sweet masks bring the candy booze warmth. Finish is sweet slight sticky, syrupy, lots more sweet candy malts, caramel, toffee, light bourbon and vanilla barrel, more warming booze, some caramel creams and vanilla, nutty, espresso flavours all lingering. A nice flavor profile at least, the coffee makes a big presence, but leaves room for the beer to come through still.
Mouth is med to fuller bod, nice fluffy carb, light warming booze.
Overall interesting but not phenomenal, not as good as the original I think, which had a lot more beer character. I like the coffee addition, but again just wish there was more beer profile balance.
