Notes/Commercial Description:
Join us in excitement as we release the winning brew from our Batch #1000 homebrew contest - Bryeian! Hard to believe that we've brewed 1,000+ batches of beer and for those who have been with us throughout the years, probably surprising to see that the winner is a hoppy ale! A cascadian, dark rye ale to be exact. Brian Pramov and Bryan Keas, a pair of homebrewers from Denver put together this winning recipe for us and it shined brightly in our competition. The roast of the dark malts, the spice of the rye and the intense hop character combine for a fantastic experience.

Split with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black hire with a think almost the finger mocha head that left a thin blanket and sticky lacing that hangs around.

S - Aromas of nice chocolatey malts, light roast, super dank hops, light bitter earthy spicy bitterness. Super wet. Nice rye on the finish.

T - Taste is nice spicy rye, earthy bitter hops, creamy chocolate, roast malts...very light though. Not super bright but solid tasting, alt darker than I'm used to with my black ipas. Lingering bitterness that is pleasant.

M - Mouthfeel is solid, nicely carbonated, alcohol hidden nicely.

O - Overall I enjoyed this beer, I like a bit more citrus with my black ipas though. Solid offering. I like the rye, a lot, but just don't really care for the hops they used.

Poured from bottle to pint glass.

A- black, completely opaque even held up to bright light. Thick, rocky, tan head.

S- rye comes through first, gives way to sweet chocolatey malt.

T- taste follows smell rye, then chocolate, then some bittering hops at the end that linger nicely on the back of the tongue.

M- coats the tongue, feels viscous and full bodied.

O- not the best rye, not the worst. The uniqueness of bringing in the chocolate malts adds a nice complexity.

A - Very dark, almost black, nice medium tan head, leaves pretty quick. Some spotty lace.

S - Rye, cocoa, licorice and hops all blended together.

T - Taste simliar to smell, with Rye is the first thing I taste, backed up by the rest of the smell attributes.

M - Medium body, light to medium carbonation (enough) , not overly sweet nor dry and a nice balance.

D - Not a HUGE abv, and the flavors are not palate killers, so pretty good session.

Opaque, ebony body topped with very thick, very chunky light tan head. Spicy and roasted malt nose; chocolate, pine, and citrus notes. Smooth cocoa and milk chocolate flavors blending together nicely with a zesty hop bitterness and an edge of alcohol sting; minty. Medium-heavy body; slick and oily; slightly dry finish.

A wondrous dark ale adventure with nice roasted and dark grain malt goodness well-blended with nicely balanced hop zing. Flavor and appearance are top-notch. Big, dark, and deliciously drinkable!

a: a thick, solid flat black color - no light. largeee 3 finger rocky frothy white head. looks delicious

s: i love black ales. dark fruits, tropical hops, juicy apricot, roasted malts. so much ripe mango and passion fruit. the kind of smell that makes your mouth water. dank earthy hops - like smelling a columbus pellet.

t: right away the roasted malts and ripe passionfruit are fighting for dominance. they then blend together and fade to a nice smooth chocolate note. then we taste some of the sweet malts - light toffee. finishes with a hint of earthy pine bitterness - just the right amount.

m: medium mouthfeel, that feels a little fuller with all the carbonation. slightly syrup-like

o: super impressed with this. such a nice blend of malts, roast, and hops. tropical fruits and roasted malts and chocolate all harmonized so well. just enough bitterness to add a nice crispness to this and make it savory and refreshing at the same time. i highly recommend this. only complaint is i think it would benefit from a lighter mouthfeel, perhaps
