I was pretty pumped to return here after four years and see this new tasting room I kept hearing about. As soon as I opened the door I was blasted with a wall of noise from all of the people packed into the medium-small space. Atmosphere was solid I guess. Every single seat in the place is filled, people are standing at every available counter and enjoying their beers. Service was a bit up and down. I got lucky and the line died right as I wanted to get my beers so I didn't have any wait. The bartender was pretty nice and talked to me for a minute or so before someone else came up to order another beer. I found a small sliver of area right where people fill out their flight menus and made sure I left plenty of room for them, I guess that wasn't enough room for one of the other bartenders because he about ran over to me to tell me to move over. I moved the three extra inches over and that was apparently enough for him to leave me alone for then on. Quality was solid for everything I tried. Selection was huge, as it should be at a brewery that makes this many beers. I got a sampler so I got to try five of them, most were just ok but I did really like the one. Decided to leave after that as it was becoming even more packed, I am hoping to return again before we move on to give it a more detailed look. Prices were a touch high on some of the beers but they tended to be some of the more labor intensive ones so I can kind of understand that. Overall I still love the place, I hope we can stop in again in the coming days.

I wanted to temper my enthusiasm for this place but upon walking in and seeing the extensive tap list that ended quickly. Did only one sampler because I had prior plans later in the night otherwise I might still be there. Sours, darks, etc they excel at them all, although with the high abvs I suggest you arrive and depart in a cab. World class.

Unexpected location in the middle of a business park. We went on a Friday night and the place was packed. It was about a 10 minute wait in line, but it was worth it. A great selection with a wide variety. Sample trays were reasonably priced and allowed us to get a taste of many different styles.

The simple but large tasting room was fairly full when we arrived, but we were able to snag a couple of seats at the long bar. Nearly everyone there had wooden sample tray in front of them, almost no pints of beer were being poured--very different from the average tap room. Near the entrance they had a sign up for tours and sheets of paper with written descriptions of the 32 tap beers and another for their bottled options to take home. Tastefully framed versions of their bottle labels decorate the walls behind the bar...and not so tastefully slapped all over the place in the bathrooms. Behind the bar they also had a not-so-secret stash of bottles to be bought for on premises drinking--including some pretty hard to find stuff like the barrel aged Bois.

Our servers were awesome. Instead of rolling their eyes at us for waffling on our sampler orders, we received great advice, and perfect hospitality. Frankly I am seldom confused by beer menus, but this thing was so huge and many of the beers were high-test, so I was a bit boggled. With help from our servers and from the nice "regular" lady seated next to us we were finally able to order a few rounds of samples. The samplers came in a cool wooden crate carrier and were all served in little snifter glasses. Most of these were pretty pricey, but all were worth it! In addition to just a huge list of beers, they also had a couple of mini flights with either different vintages or different treatments of the same beer (oaked, cocoa nibs, etc.) They had a couple of options only for their Reserve Society members...one of the perks of joining.

We ended up getting several groupings of beer, each seemingly more impressive than the last. A few didn't hit the mark--the Coffee Smoking Wood comes to mind (just too astringent.) Favorites were the malt-bomb barleywine Mash and its coconut incarnation. I was also a huge fan of the hoppy, bretty saison Atomic Kangaroo.
