Poured into 16oz glass, has the appearance of a deep copper color. Has a light finger head that slowly fades.
Aroma- Pine and grapefruit nuances great balance of hops in this IPA
Taste-Has a good bite on the front end but finishes with the nice hops in the end.

Overall this is a great IPA and mostly because of the fresh water that they use at the brewery fresh mountain water nothing like it.

this beer poured out a light copper yellow color with a nice frothy white head.

the aroma from this beer can be smelled without bring your nose to the glass. there is a load of floral hops in here with the classic westcoast citrusy grapefruit smell

the taste is great. there is a stong firm betterness to this beer with lots of nice floral hops flavors and a touch of malty sweetness that is overrun by hop bitterness by the end

the finish is great on this beer, a good strong bitterness that hangs on the tongue and floral hops that roll out of your mouth on the exhale. this brewery makes some great beers, its just too bad they are so far away from me (and most people for that matter). a great beer for the style!

On tap at National.

Appearance- Pours an amber colour with a finger width of bubbly head.

Smell- Piney hops, caramalts, citrus, grapefruit.

Taste- Starts with a pungent fist of piney hops followed by the caramalts, citrus and grapefruit. The beer finishes with a pleasant bitterness.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Has a pleasant creaminess to the body.

Overall- A stellar American IPA by Tamarack. This is my kind of IPA with solid bitter hops and balancing caramalts. A true hop bomb for those hop-heads out there. I'm hoping this will be bottled in the future.

Had on draft at the brewhouse.

A: Nice golden honey color, slightly pale. Very crisp lookin' IPA. Good head from the tap.

S: Earth and floral hop comes straight out. Slight malt character but it's mild.

T. Very tasty IPA. Well balanced on the hops but definitely a strong component that will satisfy the hop heads of this world. Of course some nice citrus and pine in there.

M: Not too heavy and very crisp. Slightly dry.

D: I had three pints so yes, very drinkable for sure. One of their better offerings with regards to their core beers.

On tap at North Taphouse in Chestermere, Alberta.

A very orange - amber colour with short, white head. Foam faded to a thin ring, but lasted through the entire pint, thinnest strings of lacing.
Smell is all hops, just what I was hoping for from an American IPA. Piney, citrus, grapefruit.
Taste has a hoppy, citrus start, add some more leafy, resinous pine. Some caramel malt sweetness balances, Then clean, bitterness at the end, not too oily. No alcohol hotness.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Slightly creamy body.
Overall, a great beer from Tamarack. I have seen their beers listed at other locations, and although this was the first, certainly won't be my last.
Now...to plan a trip to the Brewhouse to try it fresh!

Poured from a pint can into a shaker. A moderate pour produces a good two inches of frothy, sticky, white head. The beer is a pale amber color and quite hazy, with medium carbonation.

Plenty of pine and citrus on the nose, but you can smell the rich caramelly malt. Quite malty on the palate, with the citrus-pine kept within reasonable bounds. Despite this, lemon, spice and grassy hop notes still prevail, with a lingering bitterness evoking citrus rind. The mouthfeel is full and creamy, inviting slow, savoring sips.

You can't go wrong with a beer from this brewery, at least the few cans that I've tried. I have not been to northwestern Montana in awhile (unless you count Missoula), and need to road trip up that way, with this brewery on the itinerary. They have a satellite eating-drinking establishment in Missoula that serves their beers. The two times I've been there, they were so busy that we're forced to go elsewhere simply because their staff is overwhelmed. Of course, being tour-ons from Butte, we're there at busy times (Griz games).

Bravo also to this brewery for making their product available in cans, which are better for the environment.

A bit darker than I was expecting, nice amber color. Beautiful lacing from the tight and darkish head.
Nice aromas of sweet and bitter.
The taste follows; sweet at first with some nice bitter notes to finish. A tasty hop, whatever ones they used!
The alcohol burn came through (I was told that the keg we sampled was reading at 7.5% ABV).
This felt really great in the mouth.
An excellent IPA.

Have three (a hat trick)!!

20oz pint, on tap at the lovely brewhouse, just off the highway through Lakeside, MT. 6.9% ABV and 65 IBUs, with the aroma of some rather pleasant pub grub wafting past us as we maintain our lonely station at the bar. I've potted my share of hat-tricks in my former hockey life - will this conform?

This beer appears a somewhat murky medium copper amber hue, with one finger of tightly foamy and creamy ecru head, which leaves some rather complex, spaced layers of webbed lace around the glass as the draining of the glass goes on, and on, and on.

It smells of peppy and pungent grapefruit citrus flesh, bready caramel malt, fairly acrid pine resin, an indeterminate spiciness, and more leafy, earthy hops. The taste is bitter grapefruit rind, sweet orange flesh, gritty pale and bready caramel malt, and a dwindling metallic stoniness.

The carbonation is on the lower side, just a pleasant frothy notion, mostly, the body smooth, and a heady medium weight, with an airy creaminess sort of forcing itself upon my palate as things get along. It finishes with a pleasantly clean west coast citrus and pine hoppiness, the metallic flintiness really the only other player at this point in time.

A patently wonderful IPA, all around - location, taste, and personality - Tamarack definitely has it going on. I would very much like to see this offering made more generally available - especially back north of the 49th, eh, Lanny?
