L: Hazy, bright yellow with a creamy, two-finger white head. Great lacing.

A: Bright tropical, grapefruit hops with a earthy rye base and light bread malt notes. Very clean, and crisp. Somewhat restrained, but very well balanced.

T/M: Moderate bitterness upfront, moves into grapefruit rind hops with soft fruity notes and spicy rye notes. A gentle malt base fills throughout due to a very clean yeast profile. Moderate body that leads way to a dry, hoppy finish and lingering rye and malt.

Overall, this is a winner, a great variation on the (sometimes) one-dimensional american pale ales. The rye really adds a nice dimension, and what hophead in their right mind wouldn't like citra. One of the best Montana-brewed beers I have had to date. (746 characters)

Advertised on the menu as a rye pale ale brewed with citra hops.

A - Very cloudy bright orange with yellow glow around the edges. A small layer of white white head formed with decent retention.

S - Grapefruit, peach, mango and a slight honey malt sweetness. The tropical fruit aroma is not as strong as expected (from the citra hops)

T - A decent bitterness up front with grapefruit and lighter peach flavours. Some pine, a slight caramel swetness and a hint of spice in the background. Not a lot of flavour from the hops at all and certainly not a typical citra profile.

M - Light to medium body. Slightly creamy. Light carbonation. (645 characters)

Enjoyed on tap at the Lakeside Tamarack brew pub. This is not a beer for the faint of heart - it has bold, bright flavours that suit the beautiful place it is brewed. The citra hops add a lovely grapefruit and pear zest to the earthy flavours of the rye. This beer is a staple when we visit the Tamarack. (304 characters)
