A Yankee pint at Edmonton's Beer Revolution - I've been searching for this one for a while, ever since hitting up the brewery itself a few summers ago.

This beer appears a slightly hazy, medium golden amber hue, with one finger of thinly foamy off-white head, which leaves some random streaky amoebic lace around the glass as it quickly blows away.

It smells of pale grainy malt, a somewhat sour apple and pear fruitiness, mild clarified butter, and leafy, earthy hops. The taste is kind of sugary, pastry-like malt, more zingy drupe fruit, and a floral, earthy hoppiness, one rather devoid of bitterness.

The bubbles are quite laid back, content in their support duties, the body a decent medium weight for the style, and generally smooth. It finishes off-dry, the mildly doughy graininess toying still with the lingering sassy fruit, in place of any and all hop bitterness.

A pleasant enough amber lager, a prime candidate for when, heaven forfend, one might tire of acrid, bitter hopped-up 'palate destroyers'. Or maybe I just read too much online beer culture wankery. Session-worthy, for the most part, I would say.
