A: inky blackness, served in a snifter, it arrived with a very thin head of fine, light tan bubbles, and no discernible lacing.
S: not much, with a hint of Bourbon.
T: you'd swear there was a ounce of Jim Beam in here, but then the expected burn never arrives. Rich dark chocolate with clean alcohol cutting through. Enough hops to notice, but not overbearing.
M: fizzy, then clean. lingers a little.
O: (my first added beer on BA, and first review...) A fine stout, made more powerful with the time spent in Jim Beam barrels. Didn't taste the vanilla much, and the substantial hops (IBU 50) make for a good match with the distinct alcohol.
