Well i see C&K is a bit debated in reviews here, so I bring my unbiased point of view- provided this is my first visit to a US beer store in ages.

I don't know pricing either, but i thought it could be pricier elsewhere. 24 bucks for 7 brilliant american beers seemed fair to me.

The place itself is pretty discrete from the outside but the display inside is quite entertaining. bottles are everywhere and even if they're only for display (half of them), it's a nice layout and it's always nice to spot some of those magic unreachable beers we've only ever heard about in colombia (like the first i spotted when i walked in: a tomas hardy's ale and an Ommegang Bière de mars (both of these were in fact for purchase, in case you're wondering).

it was a friday, 5pm so as soon as i walked in they offered me a taste of an amber ale (which i tried, but in my beer-excitement i forgot the name right away). staff gave me my space but approached me later on to offer some help, and were kind all along.

Selection well, not mindblowing (in terms of what one can actually buy) but decent. it's nice to see such a repetoire of american beers when all i ever knew was sierra nevada, a couple of anchor and maybe some ommegang. spotting some stone, DFH (among others) when everyone's been talking about them for the past six years on BA was a beer milestone for this third-worldsman. I'm still not overly impressed, however, for i have seen great stores in europe and have a benchmark for "selection".

Overall case and keg is a decent place to buy beer in South FL. it's worth a visit and a purchase, and the recognition of being a proper beer store. i'll be back.

Purchase:
-DFH 90min IPA
-DFH 60min IPA
-Arrogant bastard
-Oak aged arrogant bastard
-Stone pale ale
-Stone smoked porter
-Redhook ESB

Something is going on with this palce. They are pretty much out of beer. I have been stopping by every week or so for the last two months and the story keeps changing. They claim they are barred from getting alcohol because they didn't pay the distributor. Whatever, they keep telling me it will be better next week, next week, but it doesn't. I went once long ago and they had an ok selection, but now it is creepy. The empty coolers and soda and cheap beer laying around is sad. Maybe the total wne not too far away is killing them, probably. Hope they get it figured out, until then, enter at you own risk of creepiness.

Went to Case & Keg last week to check it out. The nice gentelman behind the counter was helpful but not pushy and chatted with me a bit. The selection was good, saw a few things that are not readily available to me in my area about 40 min. north. You can mix and match your own six packs which is surely a plus with me. They offer most of their beer cold as well as room temp. They have a decent selection of imports, I saw alot of belgians that I am not well versed in and a nice selection of crafts. I Picked up some Smuttynose Robust Porter & Stoudts Smooth Hoperator. I'll be returning =)

I heard that there are free tastings every Friday at Case & Keg so today being a Friday I figured this would be as good a time as any for my first visit...

Upon entry, I was first impressed by the relatively unorganized layout and then by unfavorable ratio of display only vs. for sale beverages. At first inspection I wasn't sure where the display only ended and the for sale items began, but once I got a handle on that I wasn't too thrilled by the overall selection.

The selection is decent but far from mindblowing. You'll find several things here that you won't see at the typical convenient store but the ultra-premium price you will have to pay here pretty much wipes out any advantage, especially when this isn't the ONLY place to find craft and micro brews.

As far as the service...I was greeted with a cursory "hello" upon entry but no one said a word to me after that. Perhaps they saw in my face that I knew I shouldn't be paying $10+ for a bottle of Stone Old Guardian. Also, being a happily married man, the presence of beer babes alone did little to change my overall impression. I didn't even bother to stay long enough to take advantage of the free sampling. In all fairness, this may be the place to go for your keg party but for my money, I would (and did!) go to the nearby Total Wine & More where you can pay 30-40% less for roughly 200-300% better selection.

This is where it all began between beer and I. I walked in, a little unsure of what to expect when exploring "good beer". The guy behind the counter asked me if he could help me with anything, and I explained my situation: I was never a beer drinker in the past, but now I would like to try something. What would he recommend? Also, what would be a good beer to give to someone as a present?

I think he gave me a 4 pack of some sort of golden belgian and a La Fin Du Monde. He also recommended a peach beer, which I did not buy.

The present was appreciated and both were very refreshing and enjoyable.

What struck me was how helpful the shopkeeper was, and that spirit has carried itself all through how I think about beer: It's something to celebrate, to celebrate with, and to celebrate with others.

Thanks!

P.S. I know it's been a long time since I was there, and this is against the B.A. rules, but I hope this can stay there for posterity's sake.

Not too difficult to find in a small strip mall kind of area. I visited while checking out the area for an impending move. Priorities you know? Store was very clean, and got a nod from the guy behind the counter followed by a if you need any help...
That's all I need in the world to be honest. So big props. The selection in bottles wasn't massive, and most items were cold. I hadn't planned on buying anything till a look through the coolers. Then I saw a bottle of something belgian that sent my heart racing. Luckily I found two warm bottles of said brew. If I have one complaint there's not enough warm bottles, but then again it is FL. It's worth a look if in the area.

This place is easy to find and is a medium sized store. Almost exclusivly sells beer. Only 2 cooler doors dedicated to BMC. They mostly sell singles (12 oz. up to bombers - not too many 750mL) and they will let you break up six packs if you want. A lot of eastern euro and german beers. Decent amount of american micro and belgians. Pretty much a 50/50 mix of warm stuff vs. stuff in the coolers. The owner/manager guy was really cool and knowlegeable. They also have a large keg selection.

I was on vacation for 4 days and this is the only place I needed to go and exclusively had beers I cannot get in Tx (a few were Lagunitas Imp Stout, Bell's Hopslam & Kalamazoo Stout, Weyerbacher Muse & Blanche, Nostradamus and Stoudt's Oktoberfest)...so it seems this is the place to go when in the Ft. Lauderdale/West Palm/Pampano/Boca area.

I stop by here about once every three weeks for work reasons. :) This is the place to buy beer in South Florida. It is a very small store when compared to the likes of Total Wine, but make no mistake the selection is top notch. This is the place to get whatever is new in the region. Jeff runs the place and has a great knowledge of beer and gets good new products all the time. Really good selection of Belgians as well as a nice singles selection of American craft brews. Everything is kept up. No old beer. They are a bit pricey compared to some other places, but hey I get a nice discount! Overall, the best selection in South Florida and a very knowledgable guy behind the counter make for a fantastic beer store.

I stopped in the Case & Keg the day I arrived in south Florida to stock up with some quality beer. I would be spending the next four days visiting with my wife's sister's family and felt that it would be wise to bring my own, and to bring something strong.

I wasn't disappointed with the large selection offered at the C&K. They have a very nice selection of Belgians and their American craft brews were also well chosen. I wound up leaving with a 750ml bottle of Left Hand's Rye Bock ($13.99) and another 750ml bottle of Delirium Tremens ($8.99). I thought that these two should hold me over for at least the 1st day of my visit.

What I liked about this place was that they offered cold singles of just about everything they had. The prices seemed a bit higher than what I am used to paying, but then again, everything seems more expensive lately.

This place is a gold mine for beer lovers and is probably the best place in Boca Raton (even in Palm Beach County) to find beers that you normally cant find anywhere else in South FL. The store is small, but packed to the brim with beers in every corner, most of which are not refrigerated. The staff here is incredibly helpful and extremely knowledgeable...if you ask them if they have a particular beer, not only will they tell you immediately if they do or do not have it, but also guide you to a place that does have it...

I have been going to this place for years and it has seen all of my phases: natural light kegs, natural light cases, craft beer...Overall this is your best bet in Boca for some hard to find beers besides Total Wine

I went to Case & Keg Beer World this weekend and it was a worthwhile trip. They have an interesting selection, including several beers that I have not seen elsewhere in Florida. I purchased Allagash Interlude, Sam Adams Brewer Patriot Collection and a number of singles. There is a decent selection of singles, and definitely a good selection overall. The prices struck me as a bit on the high side, but I didn't think it was outrageous. One concern I did have is that they have quite a bit of beer in the window (some of it had plywood over it so that only minimal light would come in at those points, but some did not). Interestingly, they did not have lights on in the cooler, so they obviously know that light is bad for beer. Definitely worth a stop.

I have been stopping by this place for a couple months now since I found this place via BA. Pretty good selection and one of the best beer places I have been to in FL. The staff is very handy and allways willing to help you find that good beer that your looking for, their knowledge is pretty good. They have a good selection all the time but the owner was informing me that they even get more in when the Florida season starts, Nov-Apr. Also on fridays they usually have the beer girls passing out shots and giving free items away, not to shabby if I may add. If your in the boca area and want some good quality beer this is a must stop for you since there is not many stores like this in the area.

Beer World/Case and Keg has a great selection of microbrews and good imports. They probably have the largest selection in all of Boca Raton and then some (probably 100 + at any given time). They’re a bit are a bit pricey, then again so is most of the good beer out there. They also have home brewing supplies and are the only place around that I know of with kegs of the good stuff. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable as well. If you’re ever in east Boca, be sure to stop by. You will not be disappointed.

An oasis! Not much craft beer to be found in this area of FL but this place got me my fix. Everyhthing looked great and was seemingly fresh. I stopped in looking for some DFH (picked up some 60 and 90 min) and was pleasantly surprised to find some stuff from Lost Coast in there as well (picked up some 8-ball Stout). Lots of regional micros, kind of a scattering from all over the country and a surprising amount of Belgian and German beers too. Service was prompt and friendly. Only drawback was it seemed a bit pricey especially for the singles ($4 for a bottle of Midas Touch) but I don't really have anything to gauge it. Check it out when in south Florida.

First - my bias: I have been a periodic customer of this store for over 8 years. It is by far the best beer store in the boca area, and consistently has a good range of micros, germans and belgians, with some british and eastern european products as well. I would estimate he has about 150 different import and craft beers in the store right now, as well as the BMC stuff. There are also kegs and homebrew supplies, but I am not familiar with either and am not reviewing either of those.

LIghting is incandescent over the bulk of the micro's and flourescent over the rest of the store, thouigh there are only 2 flourescent fixtures in the whole beer area. Sell-through seems very good, I don't find dust on bottles here.. Another postive are the owners - Jeff is very knowledgable about import and craft beer, the distribution aspect, and the various belgian brands and types. He does take special orders and I have a number of times gotten cases of specific things I wanted that he didn't have in stock at the time, or that I saw somewhere else in Florida, meaning a distributor had it and he could get it.

The primary issue with selection appears to be Florida's bottle laws, which prevent a number of brands from ever bothering to register and be distributible in the state.

I would estimate about 25% of my beer purchases come from here, this is the only local store I deal with aside from random singles purchased at one other place.

date - latest visit to the location was this afternoon.

Edit, 3 years later, the floor tax on alcohol vendors in florida has greatly reduced inventory here. The tax seems designed to help stores like Total Wines, and is hurting all small stores. The tax is 10% of inventory value, annually. I still frequent this store, and only buy beer locally from here and whole foods, but I worry about the entry of mega-stores like Total Wines, who don't care about beer at all but are going to put many places like this out of business.

This place rocks! It's easy to find. Traveling towards the beach going East on Glades, make a left and go North for one block off of Glades.

This place isn't huge, but the selection is great since the beers are stacked and packed nice and neat. Three beer fridges hold a wide array of cold single bottles. I picked up a DeuS bomber for $11. Boon Gueuze, a huge 6 pack selection and some cases in the back. Some homebrewing supplies are squeezed in for good measure.

The guy that runs the joint, Jeff is always approachable and willing to talk shop.

Last call: If you are in the West Palm/Boca area and looking for good beer, this is the only game in town.

A good store for Florida, period. Perhaps a 100 single bottles to choose from, and not so well publicized from the wesite. Great help. Kudos for single bottle policy, and cold but not too cold. Anything they can get in, they carry. Was pleased to find Avery Reverand, some hard to find Left Hands, and Jewbelation. Remmber to ask for the free bottle opener keychain. Near Brewzz in Boca. And I didn't even get started on the kegs. Not a huge store, but very clean and well organized. Ample free parking.

Was down in Florida for a few days and visited this oasis. Although in a rather non-descript location, this rather small shop boasts a broad range of beer styles, both domestic micro-brews and Europeans, although it doesn't go deep into any particular brewery. That's probably a function of the lack of space as well as the lack of real demand for these types of beers in the South Florida market.

The staff person was very helpful and introduced me to a variety of beers to match my palate. I went back daily for several days trying to get deeper into the styles that I liked best but I was interested to note that none of them topped the first day's selection from my perspective.

That's what I like about this place - you tell the staff person what you like and he fits your request to the Tee. It takes a devotion to the product to have that level of knowledge.

Wow, not a big store, but tons of selection. Very nice selection of Belgiums. Decent selection of DFH, picked up a couple old crusty's, tons of different beers. No problem buying singles, it's practically encouraged. Decent glassware selection too. Guy working the counter was nice and very helpful. My only complaint is the number of empty bottles they have on display, SELL THOSE BEERS! Seemed like pretty reasonable prices too, a world wide stout was only $7. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the South Florida area.

Was in South Florida and decided to follow the advice of my fellow BAs and check this place out. I was not all to impressed.

From other reviews, I expected the store to have a much better selection than what they did have. Most of the stuff thats available in the rest of FL is available here, not a whole lot new. For some reason at the time they had an abundance of Russian Federation brews, none of which stood out.

That is, of course, not to say that what they had wasn't good, but judging by the overwhelming number of beer bottles on the wall, I was just not all that impressed with what was in stock.

On a positive note, the staff was very helpful and very cordial.
I probably won't go back.

Living in the Ft. Myers area sucks when to comes to finding good beer. So on a recent trip across Alligator Alley I made a point of bringing a map along that would land me in this small but resourceful beer store. The selection was satisfying and the clerk went out of his way to help me find something new as well as some old reliables. Several good micros chilled and cellar temp, several good German and Belgian selections and quite a few from eastern european countries. Stock seemed to be well rotated judging by the package dates. The clerk also offered to take special beer orders if available. Overall a great experience and one worth repeating.

An exta 20 minutes on 1-95 after an airport run. I've heard alot about this place.
First thing that I noticed was the large number bottles on display. Bottles that were empty, already drunk. Whatever. It was a nice display, but it out numbered beers for sale 2-1. I want beers I can buy. It did have a nice selection, and a great selection compared to other florida stores. It claims to have the "biggest selection of beers in Florida" Not sure about that. World of beer in Clearwater I think had a larger and better selection. Lots of Russian, Czech, Polish and other former Eastern bloc beers. I skipped them. I did get some Rogue Old Crusty, Alba Scots Pine, and a few others I had not seen in Florida. I guess I convinced myself it would be more.
