We craft our S1NIST0R Black Ale using a special German dehusked black malt that is free of astringency, giving the beer a rich black color without the traditional dark beer characteristics. You will notice subtle hints of chocolate with an easy drinking balance on the back end. In the glass the dark color may look intimidating to some, but don't let this beer fool you. Our unique combination of malts creates a very light body and smooth finish.

I find it interesting that this 5.7 ABV r ale has a higher rating here than most other "craft" lagers with similar ABV and flavor.
This is a nice beer but not worth $2 a can IMHO.
There's simply nothing "sinister" about it except for the hype driven label

From a can, in a hotel room shaker half pint.
L: Black body, three finger head that goes quick.
S: Roasty and sweet. Prune, sweet cherry, candied sugar, hints of coco, coffee, and fig.
T: Follows the nose, if a bit roastier. Dark fruit, mostly plum. Hops are present in the body, but nothing too distinct about them. Dark bread as well. The finish brings out some lovely chocolate and toasted malty notes.
O: Plenty good, a bit lacking on the hops side but good depth of flavor otherwise.

draught
Medium light amount of creamy, ivory colored head. Nearly black, non-see through, with barely a bit of caramel/auburn, at the bottom of the glass, for the look. Moderate amount of dark roasted grains, for the aroma. Adequate flavor of subtle, dark roasted grains, in a medium light body. Light, roasted grain finish.

It’s a dark beer that goes down like a lager. Crisp, bubbly, and flavorful. Malty! I’ve been drinking too many IPA’s that I forgot how much I like malty beers. I wish I had more.

Taste is that of semi sweet chocolate and a somewhat dry finish. I’m also pick up a bit of captain crunch.
