Notes/Commercial Description:
A Northwest American-Style IPA. The color comes through as a deep gold with orange hues. Fruity and citrusy hop aroma shines, with hints of pine resin. The four hop flavor dominates, re-enforcing the aroma with more citrus, fruity and piney notes. The malt character is clean and smooth with a unique toasted flavor (thanks to the generous helping of Victory malt), all held together by a firm bitterness. Apocalypse has a medium-bodied mouth feel, finishing crisp and dry. All of this results in a very drinkable IPA.

Smell is grassy, hoppy, of course.

Taste is grassy, hoppy, with nutty after taste.

Crisp feel.

Nice solid head that maintains. Residual lacing.

Slight cloudyness, golden color.

Found at a safeway southeast of portland. Picked this up with a Hopworks IPA, yet to rate that one...

6.8% seems decently high for an IPA.

This is ok. The grassyness is a little much and there's a slight bitter late-aftertaste. Still doesn't beat my current IPA, which's the one made by Full Sail.

Poured into an oversized wine glass a hazed deep orange with a sticky one finger white that left broken rings of lace as it settled slowly.A mix of resiny and earthy hop mixed with caramel/biscuit malt and sweet alcohol, almost candy-like in the sweet alcohol note.Big earthy tones at the onset along with pine resin hop flavors,a big sweet alcohol dipped fruit element comes in late. This is a very earthy toned hopped ipa,a bit different but I like it.

Poured cloudy golden in nonic. Head retained nicely. Good lace.
Aroma flowery, sweet, malt forward.
Taste wonderfully ballanced. Very smooth easy going flavors ranging from mildly hoppy to malt smoothness. Tastes extremely fresh though it's not the season for fresh hop IPA's nor is it hyped as one.
Aftertaste is near perfection. The perfect IPA for a hot Summer (Spring?) afternoon.
Overall, there is nothing to dislike about this beer.
I want more.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with a big fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is sweet crystal malts with grapefuit and piney grassy hops.

The flavor is sweet biscuity malts with fruit and some grassy piney hops that have a lot of bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a solid IPA but not too well balanced between the sweet biscuit malt and strong grassy hops.

Golden almost copper color, slight haziness, one finger of head that quickly subsides

Tangerine and pine aroma, with touch of caramel.

Tart citrus up front, fading into pine flavors, backed up by a touch of sweetness and lightly toasty. Assertive bitterness that does not overstay its welcome. The lingering flavors are pine and floral notes.

Medium thin body, low carbonation for style, but enough to bring out the more subtle flavors.

Overall I think this is an excellent example of a PNW IPA. Could use more hop aroma, and a touch more carbonation, but overall this is a thoroughly enjoyable beer that I will enjoy again and again.

A - coppery body.white head. Fairly clear but not crystal.

N - light hop smell. Pine over citrus.

T - bitter hops over toasted malts.

M - fair enough. Kind of syrupy?

O - kind of Mehetabel for an Ipa. Something called Apocalypse should probably be a little more world destroying... but its a fair, rather drinkable beer.
