Served chilled into a pint glass.

Poured carefully to leave the sediment in the bottle, #136 is a hazy pale golden color with thick sturdy head. It has good retention and lacing.

Aroma is very hoppy and full of great citrusy notes. The label claims the beer was dry hopped with galaxy and I'm loving it. I have to remember to use these next time I brew an IPA.

Flavor is also big on hops with lots of grapefruit and orange. Bitterness is somewhat balanced by a honey-like sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. It starts sweet but finishes dry with a bitter hoppy residual.

Overall an excellent IPA. I would love to try some of the other experimental beers from 10 Barrel. Thanks again to Jeff for bringing these to Colorado!

Pours hazy pale amber with one finger of white head, no lacing.
Smell is pinecat. Piney resins and catty. Quite pungent.
Taste is resin, pineapple, grapefruit. Some sweet maltiness shows up later. The wheat smooths the hop bite slightly.
Mouthfeel is fairly thin, light carbonation. There is an alternating wet/dry effect maybe from the wheat and hops combination.
Overall a tasty concoction. Steer clear if the catty aspect of the aroma is not alright.
Could also be a bit bold due to being very fresh. This just showed up in my area.

Paid $2 at Brewforia Meridian.... Pours with a 2 finger stark white head ... great retention and lacing... The brew is slightly darker than straw golden.

Nose is a big mash-up of citrus and tropical fruits... a bit "catty".

Flavor has a mellow sorta grassy hoppiness and is a little mellow... bitterness comes on big late and lingers forever. Not really getting any "wheat" notes... the maltiness is pummeled by the bitterness and hop flavors... pretty dry throughout.

Light body and pretty much perfect carbonation.

A damn fine IPA, I wish my palate was good enough to really pick out and describe the wheat.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a pale coppery amber with a fine half-finger white head with great retention and nice lacing. Enticing aroma of pine, citrus and hints of herbal hops, light sweet malt. Flavor is dominated by a wonderful blend of hops with flavors across the spectrum with a floral component that seemed to ebb and flow throughout the taste. Malt body definitely sits in the background here but gives good support to the hops. Although not malty, there is not much distinct wheat flavor either. The wheat character seems to come in on the finish which is lighter and less malty than most IPAs. Medium bodied with a pleasant light creaminess. Very nicely made, light bodied IPA where the hops are assertive and complex, but not that intense. I wish I could discern the contribution of each of the hops, because one or more of these really appeals to me. A really nice IPA that showcases some well combined hops. Truly thankful that I could try this and looking forward to the other varieties.

A: Pours a very cloudy dark golden with lots of floaties. Big, fluffy white head. Head fades away slowly with great retention, just no lacing at all.

S: Ahh, juicy, pungent tropical fruits. Mango and orange and apricot. Flowery too. A little bit of mild wheat.

T: More juicy tropical fruits but with some grapefruit this time. Some sharp pine kicks in too. Nice variety of hop flavors. Very mild wheatiness leads into a wave of bitterness in the finish with mainly pine and resin.

M: Medium bodied, smooth.

O: A really nice IPA. This is the last of the 4 hop project I've had and they are all very interesting in their own right. This one is super drinkable, wheat beers tend to be. Great level of hops and bitterness without being a hop bomb. Tasty and well crafted.

Thanks to Tieman for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and grapefruit juice aromas. Taste is much the same with grapefruit juice and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but smells slightly better in terms of the hops.

The #136 Wheat IPA was procured in a 12 pack I bought at Fred Meyer in Tualatin with the other experimental IPA's. The look was hazy strawish orange color with a 2 finger foam head that disappeared quite quickly. The smell was citrus and piney. There was a good bitterness in the mouth and the taste was citrus sour fruit with the wheat backbone. Overall not a bad attempt as I don't think I have ever had a wheat IPA before.
