Pours up a dark amber color. A little to the dark side for an IPA, but I like it. A thin head of light tan colored foam sits on top. Retention is excellent. Lacing is great, if slightly clumpy.
A very mild nose, I thought. Some nice, mild, malt notes. Good presence of piney hops. A nice touch of grapefruit/citrus.
Man, the cask conditioning is wonderful for this brew. Super smooth going down. Good hops bite, but the cask smoothes them out, compared to the bottled or draft versions. I pick up a nice hint of caramely malts in this version, that really doesn't come through so much in the others.
Light to medium body. Low carbonation level. Very smooth and nicely creamy.
This one has great drinkability. It would make a supreme session beer. So smooth and easy to drink, you hardly even think about it.
