Old Pavilion Pilsner was inspired by Brewmaster Eric Marshall’s time as an apprentice brewer in Germany. Crisp and clean with a distinct and pleasurable hop flavor and aroma, Old Pavilion Pilsner is brewed in the North German “Pils” style. Brewed with American malts, a mixture of American and German hops, and fermented with a German strain of bottom-fermenting lager yeast, this beer is crafted with a deep reverence for one of the world’s most successful beer styles..

Beer pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. The smell is hop forward with some citrus. The flavor is lightly happy with a hard swallow. The beer is smooth going down . Overall ok.

Pours a hazy, gold color. 5/4 inch head of a white color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of slight floral hops, hint of pine, slight citrus hops, yeast, and pale malt. Fits the style of a German Pilsner. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of yeast, pale malt, slight sweet malt, slight citrus hops, and a hint of pine. Overall, decent appearance, aroma, body, and blend.

On tap. Pours a hazy golden color with a white, two finger head that leaves lacing all the way down the glass. Aroma is spicy hops, yeast, and malts. Taste is a yeast and malt body with notes of malt and citrus rhine before a spicy, noble hop finish. Medium body and medium carbonation with a very clean feeling throughout.
A well done and successful pilsener that is simple but spot on. The noble hops, yeast, and malt backbone hold up and make a smooth drink. My favorite year round Marshall beer.
