Pours a clear, dark reddish brown, with a thin creamy light tan head. A bit of pine in the nose, with some caramel as well. Taste is bright citrus up front, followed by a toffee and biscuit middle, and an earthy, fruity hop finish. Rich mouthfeel. Overall quite good, I will certainly get a 6 pack of this again next year when it comes back around.

Appearance is a deep crimson with generous tan head, heavy lacing, and nice clarity. Nose is herbal with a healthy dose of piney/resinous hops intertwined by a strong caramel and bread malt profile. Taste is hop forward with herbal and earthy hops. Deep tones of spruce, pine, and wood come through with a very floral finish. There is a nice amount of hop flavor packed into this brew with an impressive finish. Mouthfeel is medium with appropriate carbonation. Overall, a solid red from a brewery that is new to me. Definitely enjoyable.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: Murky rust color. Cream colored head leaves a thick film, decent lacing initially.

Aroma: Charred grains underneath an otherwise hoppy aroma.

Taste: Bitter hops attack first, leaving no room for any malt sweetness. Maybe some grains toward the end, but still a bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, bright.

Overall: I'm not a fan of hoppy reds. I prefer malty reds. This is my least favorite Marshall beer in an otherwise exceptional lineup. No worries.

Poured a 12 oz bottle into a Sam Adams glass. Cellared for about a year. Pours a deep cloudy amber/red. Creamy tan head lasts quite a while and leaves lacing. Aroma is more hoppy than anything, with notes of pine and citrus. Taste is very similar, with a nice malt backbone. Nice mouthfeel, smooth with little carbonation. Nothing really overwhelming but a good, solid hoppy-ish red ale.

A- Aggressive pour from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a cloudy dark brown with some ruby color. Even with a very aggressive pour i only got about a half finger, tan head that quickly dissipates. It tries to clear up, but there seems to be a lot of debris floating around. Looks like some yeasties from a homemade beer. I'm a homebrewer, so I really don't mind, but just not sure it was the look Marshall was going for.

S- a big step up from the look. solid hop profile aroma. Detecting some fruity, citrusy, and piney smells. Malty undertone. Not a huge aroma, but enough to spike your curiosity.

T- Now we are talking. Didn't have much hope for this one after i poured it, but i am pleasantly surprised. Good combo of hops that i smelled and the malt backbone. Citrus and pine hops quickly give way to the roasted and biscuit malt flavor. A nice bitterness to combat the sweetness. A lot going on here and it works.

M- Mid body. Slightly more than the norm for this style IMO. Creamy. A nice dry finish that lingers around for a while. Touch of alcohol, but not much.

O- A nice tribute to the 46th state of the union. The murky dark brown/redish color isn't super appealing for your beer, but is a nice representation of the Oklahoma water. Give it a chance and you will be happy you did. The flavor profile is quite nice. A hoppy version of a red ale IMO. I would have again, especially if i can find it on tap.

$9.99 for 6 pk
