Served this 12 oz. brown bottle in a Sam Adams glass. No date. Thanks to chocosushi for this one. The body was a deep red/garnet color and nearly opaque, unfiltered. There was a modest tan head that sizzled down to a fine island and ring.

The smell was grains. Rye and barley - not much else.

The taste was spicy and sweet from the graininess. There was a bitter apple finish.

The mouthfeel was medium bodied with plenty of carbonation and alcohol bite. Nothing "wow" here.

Another generous extra from BeerBoy9960. I think he pretty much sent me a mini-tour of Oklahoma brews! Thanks again.

Review from notes July 31st 2011

Poured into a Stone Nonic.

A: Deep rose extracts (trying not to say blood, which is what it looks like!). Every time I look at this I think about true blood. Surprising gossamer lacing from some slightly off-white peach bubbles. A surprisingly colorful looking pour.

S: A very cherry bandaid smell. Slight unripe pomegranate, with hints of passion fruit. Renewing my palate with a whiff repeatedly takes me to medicine cabinets. Candied malt with some cheap sugars. Pretty meh, missing a hop presence.

T: A biting band-aid flavor with some red apple skins and cheap cherry pastries. Slight flavors of doughnut sprinkles makes me scratch my head with confusion. What is this? This is unidentifiable as a beer in the flavor. Plain bran muffins in the linger.

M: A bubbly decent light medium bodied brew with well done carbonation. This completely avoids watery light sensations. However, there's no flavor for this beer to hold up. Super micro bubble carbonation gives the beer a mesh like sensation in the mouth. It's okay, just incomplete without complimenting the flavors.

O: Mediocre at best, this beer is on the razers-edge of being a disaster. Bland wax candy representation of a red with flavor homages to Irish beers in style. This is a confused beer, it doesn't really taste like an Irish red, but it certainly doesn't follow the American-Style of heavy hopping. This seems like a lackluster concept, with equally unsatisfactory execution.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

Look: Murky rust color. Cream colored head leaves a thick film, decent lacing initially.

Aroma: Charred grains underneath an otherwise hoppy aroma.

Taste: Bitter hops attack first, leaving no room for any malt sweetness. Maybe some grains toward the end, but still a bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, bright.

Overall: I'm not a fan of hoppy reds. I prefer malty reds. This is my least favorite Marshall beer in an otherwise exceptional lineup. No worries.
