If you're looking for a light lager, this is it! This is definitely my favorite beer - although I have recently getting into beer tasting. Love how foamy it is (and it lasts too!) and the flavor is just right! It's not too strong like dark beers thankfully (although I like that at times), and it has an awesome drinkability.

I understand it seems a lot of people in this website like strong heavy beers, so if that's the case I guess this is not it for you, but to me this beer is perfect!

My latest desperation beer choice at a restaurant that basically has good food but swill for beer.

Had a paper thin head when the waiter brought it to me. Nice clear gold appearance. Smelled of...Nothing, really except maybe a hint of skunk.

Taste was grainy, slightly sweet and very dull. Nothing grabbed my attention or kept my interest. Watery mouthfeel with a decent amount of carbonation.

It's been a while since a had a beer so boring I kept forgetting it was sitting in front of me! Never again.

Belgian in origin, but not at all representative of the region's preferred/famous style, this pale golden lager with a thick lace does manage to stand out among the plethora of mainstream lagers out there. The scent is almost floral - a definite spicy, hoppy sharpness and presence. The taste follows this, with more complexity and depth than similar brews. Not half bad, and a solid step in-between mainstream and craft beer.

I picked this up around Christmas of 2013 at the HEB in McAllen, Texas, there was nothing special to it, and it is one of the pourest beers from Belgium. It poured golden, was cloudy, with a soapy head, and lots of carbonation. It tasted like any other massed pale ale, with a watery taste, little edge, low alcohol content, and not filling.

11.2 oz botlle into a pint glass.
A: A pale golden appearance, with a white head. Head does not stay long
S; A fishy aroma mixed with a bold corn/grain aroma.
T/M: A vey typical lager mouthfeel, with a basic grainy taste. Not much to the body of this beer. Mouthfeek is a bit bland.
D: easy to put down, but not calling me back from the taste.

This was my go-to beer before I discovered anything besides this the american standards. The fun gold trimmmed glass they served it in made me feel special and looking back, that was all pretensious. Hind sight is 20/20

It's good enough for a 20 something who doesn't care about flavors, pairing with food and is drinking something besides the other american standards.

The appearance is honey and light

The smell is sweet. earty, faint.

The taste is a little on the bland side of things, knowing what I know now- I don't know if I would order this beer. But back when I knew everything - this beer was great.

The mouthfeel is carbonation overload, sweet, simple.

The overall - this beer is drinkable, maybe not likeable, but it's drinkable.

I can't complain about this beer, wasn't anything exceptional, but it also wasn't a bad beer either. Had a spicy taste in front of a crisp wheet taste. Smell was kind of grainy. Appearance was golden yellow with a 3 cm foam head pure white. Mouthfeel was crisp, sort of wattery though. Very drinkable though, finished a tall of it with some salmon for dinner.

Served from tap into a Weizen glass. Pours a golden yellow with one finger white head. Maintained excellent lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of wheat and citrus. The flavor was of citrus and slight malt. It was light on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this was a very refreshing brew. Not my favorite brew I've had, but definitely not the worst. This is the one I go with for a lighter brew when the other options are not good.

Visual Appeal: very translucent, paler gold than Pilsner Urquell

Smell: pleasant pilsner hop aroma

Flavor: average hop bitterness, pilsner-like taste, but pretty thin

Mouthfeel: extremely thin, barely any zing available

Drinkability: I might have a few with some food, but I would not drink this by itself

Presently on tap at the house and drinking one right now. Definetly much better on draft than bottle. Very decent pour. Beautiful creamy head, even in a plastic cup. Very nice. The beer has a nice golden appearance. Definitely not a heavy European lager, a bit on the light side, not bitter at all. Would recommend this one to someone looking to get away from domestics and into the European market. Not bad for a mass marketed inexpensive European.

Pretty descent beer, pretty smooth with a light white head to it. The taste is probably slightly average, but then in finishes sweet and leaves you feeling satisfied. I can see girls being attracted to this kind of beer. It starts out slightly too bitter but then gets better. Its a good beer when its around cheap beers because they make this beer taste great compared to them.

Got this from LCBO's Beligan beer gift set. Pours pale gold with about a two finger white head that dissipates quickly. Smell is fairly standard for this style lager with a malty accent. A bit of spice up front with a little bite to it in the end. Minimal lacing. This beer is very well balanced but I found it (not suprisingly) to be fairly watered down. Very refreshing and very quaffable, but like most people say, the price is too high for this standard lager.

This is better than Carlsberg and Kronenbourg. That's the best I can say for it. I drank alot of it when I lived in London for a few months. In bottles, it is inconsistent (sometimes skunked) but on draft, it's smooth, the corn taste isn't too bad, and it's really cheap. A good session beer, if you aren't out to really pay attention to what you are drinking.

This beer comes in a green tinted bottle so there may be some skunking. Mine appeared to be and tasted fine though. It pours a clear gold color with a frothy looking head well over a inch thick that dwindles in size considerabely after 5 minutes, and is all but gone about 15 minutes after being poured. Left some decent lacing. Not much going on smell wise but aromas of hops and grains are somewhat present with maybe a hint of corn or some other vegetable. No other aromas that I could determine. Tastewise it is mildly sweet and grainy upfront with a slightly bitter hop finish. It has a medium, crisp mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. I found it to be very easy to drink. A good solid euro lager, but nothing special or out of the ordinary here as far as euro lagers go.

It's sort of a "beginner's beer". If somebody is knew to drinking and they're not quite into the taste, this one goes down easily, it's light and you can drink a few bottles and not feel completely bloated, making it a good experience...which is perhaps why so many people latch onto it rather than moving onto more delicious brews.

Start here...but move on, kids.

T- no real depth of flavor, tastes like a generic pale lager.

M- good mouthfeel, just the right amount of carbonation, it feels nice in your mouth

D- i dont want to drink anymore of these. it gave me a stomach ache its so bad

i think you can tell by my scores that this an average beer at best. alittle to "grainy" for my taste considering it is supposed to be a smooth lager. the head was minimal, however that could have been due to glass and tap conditions.
it's drinkable just not memorable.

A: Looks like it does on the commercial even with the special glass and everything. The clear golden color and white 2 finger head looks pretty good.

S: Its kinda down hill from here. smells like a regular american lager

T: not much difference from say a Heineken... well maybe, just a little less pungent on the taste... slightly everything... a tiny bit sweet, hoppy, just light with a slightly bitter finish

M: it does feel nice though. the carbonation is not too harsh and it lingers just a little bit. Its weird how a beer i really didn't enjoy can feel very good

D: I would definitely not go drop the near 10 bucks on a six pack again. but if someone were to offer one, I wouldn't turn 'em down unless something more my taste was there as well...

OK at best

The taste is probably slightly under average, but then in finishes sweet and leaves you feeling satisfied. It's supposedly a girly beer, but I don't think many girls would appreciate it. It starts out slightly too bitter but then gets better. It's a good lightly above average beer when nothing interesting is around.

Good beer. Nice yellow color. Short head. Non intrusive. Goes well with less savory meals. Cheeses, garlic, etc. Prefer it with a meal more than drinking alone. Not usually a beer to pull out for a visit.

Prefer on tap instead of bottle.

Has a stinky smell to it that can be off putting.

Pours pale straw yellow with a decent white head that has average to poor retention but little side lacing.
Aroma- Wow, talk about skunky beer. I asked my wife to check out the odor and she told me that my PEE will end up smelling like a skunk.
When it comes to taste it is just hard to get by the odor.
This beer has a very offensive odor, that dominates its otherwise mediocre to poor qualities.

Appearance: straw thin hello golden. medium carbonation. No head. Crystal clear in complexion.

Smell: mild corn hints. Hints of alcohol. Fruity notes. Grapes.

Appearance: Bright opening. pale bitter taste. Burst of bubbles with a dry finish. Taste somewhat hollow watery feel. It basically taste like beer. Better than heineken but nothing spectacular.

Mouthfeel: bubbly. Somewhat sharp burning feel. Dissolves quickly.

Drinkability: Light.crisp refreshing. Drinkable but not very interesting. Good in it's category. Good beer for watching sports and snacking.

Serving Type: 500 ml can

Despite this being a Belgian beer, it clearly steers away from the taste/style that the region is known for.

A: Pours an extremely pale, piss colour that is akin to Budweiser. 2 finger head that dissipates fairly quickly. Lots of lacing on the glass

S- Nothing special here, that's for sure. Notes of corn and fruit shine through in this one.

T- Opens with a near citrus taste that quickly turns in to a grainy explosion. Slight Hop near the end with a medium dry finish.

M- This beer is very refreshing and would go great on a hot summer day. Average carbonation.

O- IMO, Stella serves a similar purpose to Corona and might benefit from a lime. While I say that, I should mention that this is definitely a superior beer to Corona and I'm not knocking either beer in any way. Stella Artois is by no means the best beer I have ever had, but it is pretty good nontheless.

Make no mistake about it, this is a session beer. If you get home after a long shitty day, and you're tired and need one really good beer before you go to bed, this is one is not it. This is for picnicing in the sun, lawn mowing, or tossing off half a dozen with your buddies and a plate of wings on Friday night. Its appearance is a gold-yellow that's almost bright enough to put me off. In fact, since I didn't have the side by side, it may be the exact same color as a Budwieser or somesuch for all I really know. But it didn't smell bad, so the color didn't put me off. Still if you put this next to a Amber lager, the color would look kind of weak. Anyway, the smell was fine. It was light, with a tiny bit of grain and some mild hops (slightly sour but not in a bad way). Taste was also fine but light. Very slightly sweet, a little bit of grains, hops that are more sour than bitter (the bitter only comes in the finish). This is a light enough beer that you can actually taste the carbonation a little. Mouthfeel was a little thin, but at least thick enough that it didn't make me think of a bad light beer. Drinkability is awesome. Anyone could throw their head back and make Stella Artois disappear like water on a hot day. That's really the strength of this beer. If you want something with flavor, something with distinction, this is not what you are looking for. But if you want something light, thirst quenching, agreeable, and completely inoffensive then this is a good idea (Assuming its cheap. Since I got mine at an inexpensive restaraunt, I don't know what this costs at a liqour store. If this runs you the same money as German or Dutch imports do here in the states, get something else because it is NOT worth a premium price). I could have done better, but I'm not sorry I tried this, its a pretty decent beer. A lot like Labatts, but a little cleaner, and even more drinkable. Maybe this is what they water down to make Dos Eques.
*Side note, before I said this would not get you hammered. I had 16 oz with a big meal and I weigh about 240lbs. ABV is listed at 5.90% on this site. Assuming that's true (and I have seen them change ratings before) then this may get you hammered pretty quick after all. If you have to have a beer and are driving, this isn't the one.
