I thought this beer was the budweiser of France this past summer. It's everywhere, in every pub in the Dordogne valley, and appears to be marketed to tourists both abroad as well as here at home. Because our family had such a blast eating and drinking our way across the breadbasket of France, I decided to try it again from the bottle last night.
A: Pours a honey blond body into a glass. Average single finger head with decent cling to the edges.
S: Smells of malts, some weak pine from the hops, bartlett pear notes on the nose.
T: Well balanced with no overwhelming flavors. Subtle, some sweetness from the malts, mild lime zest bitters from the hops.
M: Semi-medium bodied. Assertive carbonation keeps right on fizzing while going down. Clean tasting hiding it's alcohol well.
D: Better on warm days. A decent beer to team up with wings, a hot dog or ballpark nachos.
