Poured a 16oz can into an english tulip glass resulting in a two fingers of fluffy white head that disappeared very quickly.
Appearance: Completely translucent straw/pale color.
Aroma: Some sweet caramel malt in there. Not much to smell.
Taste: It's a subtle beer. Definite grain notes, almost no hop presence or bitterness. Similar to Heineken but more reserved. A bit of bitterness shows up on the tongue shortly after swallowing.
Mouthfeel: I thought this would be a thin beer but it's actually medium bodied. The carbonation is done right: small bubbles that stay present but don't get in the way of what flavor there is to taste. Highly drinkable.
Final Thoughts: Even though this is a macro-lager, it has a definite edge on it's American counterpart. There is no adjunct taste in this beer. If you're a macro-lager drinker then take that first step and order a Stella Artois. From there, who knows, maybe you'll conquer your fears by ordering some beers with real character. All in all, I wouldn't seek this beer out again, but I can appreciate some of the craftsmanship that goes into it.
