poured actually into SA glassware that was a gift a few years ago...why not? bright, light but deep buff color with a lively fluffy head that settles moderately slow...and laces in a rather cool architecture of gauziness.
nose is what's expected in a euro pale lager...a bit of cerealness, good but nothing spectacular
very clean, nearly sweet but immediately dry/bitter bite. nothing radical, but a really precise balance of malty sweetness immediately snipped with the slight hop snap. then it's gone. i'd session this over heineken any day. and plenty of other 'under the radar' but rather macro-euro brews. for that, i'll give it a push beyond simply 'good'...but not exceptional...much more like a 4.3. this would go great with almost any asian foods, esp. thai. even indian cuisine.
the mouthfeel is just right, neither thin nor thick. a slight creaminess makes this just right.
to be honest, as much as i am into extremely complex brews, i like to slip into something easy but not 'simple'...i find this drinkable enough and nice when the only choices at a holiday company function is Coors Light or Stella Artois...very good and better than 'decent'
remember, an "A" for one style isn't the same as an "A" for a more aggressive, master style (like the DIPA or stout or .... etc)
