This was meant to be a review of Plan B, Glastonbury:
Looks like I've found a back-up to Eli's.
Plan B is located in a upscale strip mall, hidden from view, so it took a couple of loops around the building before I finally found it.
Inside, the large semi-circled bar with fixed bar stools dominates the room. Test tube shaped bulbs with red shades dangle over the bar. High ceilings and a dark marble surface with ample tables and leather chairs with studded trim surrounding the bar make for a pleasant, upscale though not snobbish atmosphere (the large framed picture of a young Johnny Cash flipping the bird helps in that department). Once I bellied up and saw Creme Brulee on tap and for only $5.25, I knew this was more than the average brew stop. About a dozen chrome taps mounted to the bar surface. Along with the solid Southern Tier selection, UFO Hefe, Allagash White, Otter Creek's Japanese offering and several others were on tap. A very respectable selection as was the bottle list which I believe totalled around 50. Prices are generally between $4.75-$5.50. There was also a wall of liquor options behind the bar and Two flat screens above the bar. Bar keep was efficient and unobtrusive. A patron sitting next to me ordered a massive burger with sweet potato fries that looked delightful, though I did not sample the food menu.
A tasteful, airy and comfortable pub with a nice selection in Central Connecticut. A welcome addition to the modest beer bar options in my area. Worth the visit.
