Stopped by this place on my way through the state. Located in front of a mall off the main highway. Sat at the bar for an appetizer and beer. Fair amount of people there at 10:00pm on a Saturday night. Beer is brewed elsewhere and served here the bartender said although I could see brew kettles behind a small window. For show? Started with the octoberfest that they still had on draft. Decent enough, had good body to it and nice mild malts. Had the tomato basil flat bread pizza appetizer which was real delicious, liked it a lot but then again I was starving. Had the bock next. Brown color with a nutty mild maltiness. Slight smoke flavor at finish? I guess that's what that is. Nice enough. Overall a slightly above average place for beer but I would try again.

This Granite City is our local area one and we frequent it about 5 - 8 times a month.
The bar crew is top notch, ask for Jen for great service, the mug club gives you 25 oz. mug for the price of the large pint.
Growler refills are $6-10 depending on day.
The spicy shrimp tacos - awesome, and BBQ chicken flat bread pizza - dble awesome.
Crowd is friendly, and you will find many likeable staff. The patio is nice for outdoor dining in warmer weather, very relaxing....
When they release seasonal beers ther is usually a food tasting for the mug club members, with givaways and drawings for added fun.

This review is more for the purpose of the beer than the food. I have eaten here a few times over the years and the food is good tasting with ample portions and fairly reasonable prices, in line with most othe casual eatery chain like it. I recently was able to sample their own brewed Light, Bock, Wheat, and IPA at a company event. Their Light Lager is exactly what you would expect. A simple beer in the style of BMC, only slightly more tollerable. I found the Waggs wheat beer to be pleasant, slightly less than a 312. The Bock is medium in color and body, and a pleasant malty taste. The IPA was the best of the group. Not bad at all for a chain brewed IPA, definately sessionable. I look forward to trying more of their seasonal offerings. This would be a good place to go if you have craft and BMC people looking for a meal.
