Served in a nonic pint glass at the Santa Fe taproom.

Frothy dark-khaki head a finger and a half thick could be scooped out with a spoon. Body is pitch-black. 5

Delicious dark chocolate and creamy caramel aroma with a floral bouquet. Great smelling brew. 4.25

Bitter dark chocolate is captured here perfectly, along with caramel, coffee and vanilla. The finish has a floral flourish and tinge of resinous hop flavor. 4

Bitter and coffee-like, but with a rich, viscous smooth body, this is an easy-drinker with big taste. 4

I've neglected this beer for two long in my constant quest to try new beers. This could be easily a staple in my fridge if only I could stick to one beer from time to time.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.25

Draft at 40 degrees (approximately) into standard pint glass
Aroma of roasted malt
Head small (scooped off by bartender), light brown, rapidly diminishing to 2 mm layer
Lacing fair – narrow rings of small bubbles
Body dark brown, opaque
Flavor begins with roasted malt bitterness which lessens with time. No alcohol, no hops, no diacetyl.
Palate medium, oily, soft carbonation

This oatmeal stout lacks the velvety palate of most; instead it is more like an IPA with an oily feel. The bitterness is acceptable. Not as enjoyable as I was hoping.
