Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #38 (Mar 2010):

Towering, robust brown head. Yeah ... this beauty is black through and through. Aroma burst with burnt caramel, freshly ground coffee and cocoa powder. Creamy, dreamy medium body; semi-silky. The taste buds have a lot to cover here, from a slight fruity yeast tone and hop bitterness, to charred grain and burnt sugar flavors. Hints of choco- late cake batter, burnt biscuits and an iced coffee show off the complexity here. The sweetness that builds up is a perfect balance against the roasted grain; hint of dark fruit within the roasty finish.

How much more sessionable can a beer get? Right to style without any attribute jump- ing up too high--a prime example for Oatmeal Stouts.

Deep brown and black appearance, soft tan head, 3/4" on the top, good retention. Soft and mild coffee malt aroma, rich roast is the most prominent smell going on.

Taste, very sessionable, but nice and thick enough viscosity that it isn't watered down into Guinness territory to keep it more approachable/sessionable. Still has the chocolate and coffee malt thing going without any additions of them from an adjunct perspective. Some moderate hopping apparent, kind of is a weird juxtaposition with an oatmeal stout, contributes some bitterness that the oatmeal is supposed to be fighting. . . still good though, just, well not complex, confounded?

Thanks to koufax21 for bringing this to March Madness 2012.

A big light brown head takes its time to settle into a pretty nice lacing above a clear ( I think ) super dark brown to black colored beer.

Super dark roasted malts with the aroma of them being burnt harbor some bakers chocolate, coffee, and oatmeal aspects.

Rich dark roasted malts with unsweetened chocolate, light roasted coffee, and a thickness of oatmeal taste.

A creamy yet lightly dry aftertaste with some of the dark roasted malt characteristics hanging around on this full bodied creamy thick stout.

A very well done oatmeal stout, not to much chocolate or coffee coming through, yet it has that full roasted malt body that makes you want to take another drink and another, etc.

Appearance: About as black as black can be. Great foam.

Smell: Great chocolate qualities. I'm picky about chocolate levels, but this is great!

Taste/Mouthfeel: An incredible stout. Coffee and chocolate with a superb burnt character in the finish. One of the best. Good velvety texture in feel.

Drinkability: I could drink and enjoy a few of these.

Overall: I only tried a bit, but it's already one of my favorite stouts.

Marble Oatmeal Stout

Bomber into medium chalice. Dense dark brown body with ruby
highlights. The head is mocha colored and thick and creamy. Beautiful
lacing too.

Roasty, sweet creamed coffee, toffee.

Chewy malt, dark caramels, mocha, pine, toffee. Tastes green, like its
maybe a bit too fresh. Still yummy though.

Soft, chewy, with a moderate heft and a low-medium carbonation.

Tasty brew that I could consume in copious amounts. This bottling
probably needs another month to blend.

22 oz bomber without a freshness date. Pours a super-dark crimson color, nearly black unless held up to light. Foam is rocky top, topographous and long lasting. Lacing is excellent as well. A great looking beer.

Nose is a bit heavy on the bready yeast to classify as a 'clean' oaty stout, but that is ok with me as long as there is still a healthy dose of chocolate and oats, and there is. Nose is mildly faint and lacking a little bit of depth, but what is there smells pretty good.

Taste is quite nice as some leafy hops make an appearance. Nice balance of sweet lactose and oats with a mild roasted malt flavor. Very, very drinkable beer, chuggable even. The mouthfeel suffers for that a little as it leans towards the thin end of the oatmeal stout spectrum, could use more creaminess. Overall though, this is a very nice offering from a promising new brewery in the desert. I would drink this on a regular basis if I lived in Albuquerque.
