Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #38 (Mar 2010):
Towering, robust brown head. Yeah ... this beauty is black through and through. Aroma burst with burnt caramel, freshly ground coffee and cocoa powder. Creamy, dreamy medium body; semi-silky. The taste buds have a lot to cover here, from a slight fruity yeast tone and hop bitterness, to charred grain and burnt sugar flavors. Hints of choco- late cake batter, burnt biscuits and an iced coffee show off the complexity here. The sweetness that builds up is a perfect balance against the roasted grain; hint of dark fruit within the roasty finish.
How much more sessionable can a beer get? Right to style without any attribute jump- ing up too high--a prime example for Oatmeal Stouts.

Pours dark, dark brown, just about black, with a nice mocha head and decent lacing. A deep roasty aroma paired with very light sugars from the oats, slight but enough to let you know this is an oatmeal stout rather than american stout; coffee and cream, bakers chocolate, roasted barley, and sugars. Slight alcohol is present. Flavor starts of a roasty with some sugars from the oats, but then midstreams everything picks up and the flavor kinda erupts, big coffee that grows in its burntness as it develops, bakers chocolate that also continues to develop into the finish, and all with the sugars from the oats to add some balance to everything. A smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, Marble with a fantastic beer here. One of the best stouts I have tried.
