Notes/Commercial Description:
Brewed with royalty in mind, no expense was spared in crafting our Imperial Red. Generous additions of our favorite hop varieties blend harmoniously with long layers of dark caramel malts.

Picked up a bomber in late March from Total Wine for $6.29. Mfg Date of 11-27-13.

Beer poured deep amber with a large off white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is grapefruit zest and toasted malts.

Taste starts with a huge toasted caramel malt backbone balanced nicely but a big grapefruit hop. After taste is piney.

Mouthfeel is huge, full and viscous; very satisfying.

Overall this is a delicious brew! I would love to try it fresher to see how it compares!

A - 4 - This is a reddish brown clear beer that has an off white head that leave nice lacing.
S - 4 - Nice caramel malts balanced by piney, citrusy hops. Very sweet smelling. Great Imperial Red aroma. Reminds me of G'Knight.
T - 4.25 - Oh man, this one is good. The citrusy, orange zest, grapefruit hops start, with nice sweet caramel malt in the middle and piney, citrusy, bitter grapefruit on the back of the tongue at the finish.
M - 4.25 - Medium-heavy, full bodied. Alc covered well. Aftertaste is bitter grapefruit and sweet malt.
O - 4.25 - What can I say, this is a great beer. It's about the same price/oz as OB G'knight, and honestly, I'd have to have them side by side to figure out the subtle differences between the two. Great imperial red. I'm glad I had it.

A: pours a deep red that's almost brown with a dense three finger off white head that retains very well
S: pine and citrus with a little bit of caramel. slightly earthy. nice hops in the nose and just a hint of sweetness
T: piney hops up front with some nice caramel malt. slightly spicy with a bit of citrus plus a bit more caramel flavor and a bit bready. swallow brings more pine and oily hop goodness
M: medium in the mouth with a silky smooth mouthfeel with slightly prickly carbonation
O: great flavors, great appearance, great smell. a very solid beer that's a pleasure to drink.

MFG DATE: 9.01.2012

Large, off-white, fluffy, foamy, soapy head. Lacing is well spaced and consistent. Nice clarity in the deep ruby red color.

Tons of deep, roasty, pine, grapefruit, raisins, mango, belgian candy, apricot, not sugary. nothing is off here.. Smells damn bitter, tons of citra hops..

Dry, super bitter, heat is hidden, but alcohol flavor is upfront, a very distinct vodka flavors emanates, kinda disappointing. Roasty crystal malt is almost overwhelming with an odd blend of hops.. High carbonation, slight kick of sweetness, and brutally bitter on the back end.

A very good brew, yet a very strong (and could be offensive) brew.. Glad I tried this one. Recommended. Could use more rounding/blending, but drinks well-enough. I would love to try this brew FRESH off the bottling line..
