It seems like I've been to nearly every Flying Saucer, though this was my first time at the Kansas City location. A suprisingly energized crowd for a Wednesday night (or whatever night they do a trivia thing) two weeks ago. Mostly 20 somethings, but not uncomfortable for us more "mature" types. FC always has a solid selection and this one did not dissapoint. Founders Rye PA on tap along with countless other regional and larger craft brewery offerings. The usual well endowed hotties in plaid school girl skirts and plates on the ceilings and the walls. KC teeters on the edge of beer disaster, but for places like this. Didn't try the food as this visit was after dinner with a business colleague of mine. Very much worth the trip in you're in the area.

What an awesome selection of craft beers! You will want to come back again and again because you will never get tired of trying something new or going back for an old favorite. If you aren't hungry, get the pretzels anyway. You will thank me later!

Excellent place to try countless amounts of beer on tap! And if they don't have it on tap they've almost always got it on bottle. Always good to great friendly service.

Not sure where my old review went.... Visited twice last week

This place seems a pleasant enough place to drink at. I could do without the loud music. I felt fairly old there, very much a younger crowd.

Beer quality for the most part was good

Service was friendly/helpful

Beer selection was good not great. They were going to put some rarer 4 hands stuff on one night, but alas my schedule didn't mesh. They had tap handles on when the kegs were blown, beer listed on the menu & chalkboard that were also gone. One time it took me 3 tries to actually pick a beer they had.

The food was pretty good, not cheap, but in line with the area.

I would go again if in the are, but not go out of my way. My 3 visits have left me somewhat happy, not thrilled. This is the only Saucer I've been to, so not really sure how it stacks up. A chains go, I rate it slightly higher than Mellow Mushroom...

They did always have t least on discounted pint, so that was cool....

Visited during a recent trip to Kansas City. This bar is located in what seems to be a fun district of downtown KC, the Power & Light District, and is a short stroll away from a horde of other restaurants and bars. It is also right next door to a parking garage that, at least the Friday evening I was there, offered all-night parking for $2, which is always a plus for a downtown spot!

The tap list is extensive, the bottle list not so much - approximately as many bottles on hand as taps. Bar staff seem to know their beer, which is unfortunately not a given at many craft bars. There's a bit of a kitschy vibe, with much of the place wallpapered with "saucers" that people apparently earn by ticking 200 different beers on site, and three times in the couple hours I was there, new "saucers" were unveiled with much ado - overhead speaker announcing, bells ringing at the bar, and so forth. The place was fairly crowded, but that's to be expected for a downtown spot on a weekend evening. The food menu is standard pub fare, burgers and appetizers.

The tap list included some harder to find beer, and it looks like they try to have something unique on hand at all times, in addition to an apparent focus on Missouri and Kansas beer.

Would return if ever back in town.
