Back when this joint opened in I want to say 2006 or so it was a cool quiet irish pub craft beer joint.
Then they got into club nights and dance and electro music with strobe lights and nothing but erdinger and sierra nevada seasonal.
They're closing now and it's probably because trivia nights where people do nothing but drink water and act like know it alls dont pay the bills.
They always had great friendly people working there and great food though can't hate on that at all.

Wow. All I can say is that I wish I knew of this place a long time before now. Thanks to madmanjf for the review that inspired me and my wife to check this place out. Having spent some time in Ireland I can say that the atmosphere of this place is spot on. This is one of the more authentic looking/feeling Irish pubs that I have been to in this country. The fact that we walked in to about 10 musicians playing some well done traditional Irish folk music was a great way to start the evening. Once they finished up there was then a revolving selection of Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. Nice! To go from traditional Celtic offerings to Celtic punk make me extremely happy. Well done.

The food was well above average for a pub. We enjoyed some decent wings and the Irish spring rolls which were very tasty, if not artery clogging. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich with spinach and brie dip, and my burger with Irish bacon and cheddar was very tasty.

Now for the important stuff. I was very impressed by the 20+ tap selection. I enjoyed the Captain Lawrence Liquid Gold, Samuel Smith chocolate stout and DFH 60 minute Ipa. All were fresh and tasty. Among some other brews represented were Rogue Chipolte, Brooklyn Summer, Erdinger Hefe, Keegan Mothers Milk, Fullers Esb, and Ommengang Rare Vos among others. A very nice and varied selection.

For the most part the clientele was laid back and friendly. Service was prompt and detailed.

Great food, great atmosphere, great beer, and great Irish hospitality warms the cockles of this Irish heart. I will be back. Often!!

The Dubliner, located on Main Street on the outskirts of the City of Poughkeepsie, is one or two notches up from the typical Irish Pub.

The establishment is cozily decorated in red with beautiful furinture from Ireland. During the winter months, this is topped off by a burning fire in the fireplace.

For beer, the Dubliner recently expanded their tap selection to 20+ Lines.

The kitchen offers up pub food as well as an extended menu of terrific culinary entrees including daily entree specials.

While you can certainly find the typical beers of an irish pub, the ownership has gone out of their way to introduce stouts and porters and other styles from various micro/craft breweries not commonly seen in most bars.

My favorite appetizer would be the Irish Spring Rolls filled with Kraut, Corned-Beef and Mustard paired with a beer from Captain Lawrence.
